West Coast BC fan here. Congrats on the win. Your win over the tide was no surprise to anyone who has watched basktball. Even if I didn't have you in my bracket, I would be rooting for good things for another BC alum.
I was looking at few threads on this board, and it seems that a number of posters seem to think that your team will have no problem with a 'fading' BC team. I think BC will be in for a challenge and should not expect to win unless they are in top form against your team, but I find it odd that so many posters appear to be buying the myth that BC is somehow an inferior team b/c they have gone 4-4 down the strech. That 4-4 includes a road loss to Nova (ask Kansas if nova is any good), a loss on the road to our little brother- notre dame (ok, bad loss, but it makes their season to beat us ;D), a beating at home by ptt (ugly game- worse loss of season), and awful performance against a mediorece UWV team. That strech also incuded a victory over Syracuse at home. Somehow, three losses to NCAA teams at the end of the season ruins a 25(after today)-4 record. We were bigeast co-champs with Xconn, a team we beat on the road, but ended up seeded significantly lower than- brilliant.
Question: do the majority of your fans see BC as an easy mark in this round? I see it as being an intensely competitive game, my alligiance leads me to favor BC, but hope for spiritly contested game where the best team prevails. Best of Luck

I'd say its pretty much overconfidence..
But you will lose.
Good luck... in trying to understand why your season will be over after Saturday. Remember, year in and year out, the class of the Horizon League is definitely stronger than the majority of the Big Least..

greetings and saluatations! on behalf of the panthers i congradulate on extending your college pro boards. I hope we didnt cost you too much money by not losing.

Your perceptions are very sharp and i noticed the same thing. and i must say thank you for not jumping back at us with a negative tone. most posters would defend their team and bog down the the board. I believe most of these people posting did not attend the game nor did they watch the BC game post facto our Panther win. But i would say the majority of Panther fans will be taking BC serious. I do not feel that BC is getting flat or fading. Your intial analysis is great and i didnt know that so thanks for posting it. A 4-4 stretch isnt enough to show me BC is fading. Its March and anything can happen. Attititudes, game plans, and players are on red alert and are ready for whatever.

So the answer pretty much is no. UWM does not feel that BC is an easy mark. BC has proven their respect through the whole season and not just in 4 losses. Ranking in the top 10 is serious busines and BC means busines. Im looking forward to see your forwards go to work. I was very impressed with their play against PENN even though i found it inconsistant and sloppy. But the whole game was sloppy by both teams. I think that is where fans are drawing their analysis. THe other part of this is, UWM just got over a hump nobody really expected. it was possible, but as you saw Bama decided they would dunk on everyone on our team. THe Tides intnese post play was our number priority. So this huge win has catipolted the Panthers has a national preseces and alot of confidence. WHich isnt unfounded. The Panthers established their game ealier today and never looked back. Further more, PENN plays an uptempo perimeter game similar to UWM. except today they missed many many open shots and it still felt like Penn still had a chance. Durring certain points of the Game. UWM wont be as sloppy or shouldnt be. Other wise, i cant wait to see the panthers again.

Im not too sure what that means. but i will say the big east is above the HL.

Hey BC fan great to have you on the board
I dont think it is an easy mark
I mean come on BC was one of the last remaining undefeated teams this year...They are a very very good team however UWM matches up very very well with them
The one thing that was supposed to kill UWM in this tourney was size....Alabama was supposed to smoke us wiht there big size by starting guys who are 6-10, 6-7, 6-6, 6-3, 6-2
That did not happen...UWM plays a different brand of basketball and does not allow the other team to play to their strengths but makes the other team play to our strengths...AT least that has happened all year this year
We have a lot of size coming off the bench with Ford 6-10 McCoy 6-9 Wright 6-6
BC will be a very fun game to watch, I am still so ecstatic that we won yesterday....I have no doubt in my mind Bruce will have his troops ready and firing against BC
I just hope Nevada can knock off Illinois which is quite the tall task but after seeing how FD played them its not impossible...Hahahah lets just worry about beating BC
Good luck

One downside of our success (and it's minor), is that wins like yesterday's bring a lot of fans out of the woodwork. Some are a little overzealous, but that's OK... We welcome all to the UWM bandwagon! I can guarantee you that no serious Panther fan is taking BC lightly. The Big East is a fantastic conference, and we would be stupid to think that the regular season champ was a pushover. This will be a difficult game for certain. That being said, I DO think we match up better against BC than we did against Alabama. I think we can and will win. But it won't be easy. I expect a very pro-UWM crowd, so BC should plan for a hostile arena. Good luck on Saturday, just not too much.

Haha, believe me, after going to play teams like UConn and the other BE boys who believed we were not only traitors, but actually TRYING to kill the conference by going to the ACC, we know what it's like to play in a hostile environment. I would say be careful what you wish for, Dudley and a few others on the team seem to step it up and get in the game when the crowd gets on them. What can I say, they love being hated!

i don't think anyone who has a shred of college bball knowledge is taking BC lightly. they're going to be a very tough out. i suspect they have a very large chip on their shoulder after very few bought their team when they were winning and many jumped ship when they "faded" down the stretch. i expect a hard fought, whale of a game. i believe milwaukee can win this one, but it's going to take another A-performance.
GO PANTHERS!!!

Flat out we cannot have repeats of games previous in the season where such and such didn't play well BUT it's OK because others stepped up. Against BC, EVERYONE needs to step up. We need Ed and Joah each in the 20's - 30's, with 1 or 2 other players at or close to that, some double double figures, and a thunderstorms of 3's raining down again.

We are going to need very good games out of Ed and Joah, and at least one other player to step up and be the third scoring option. (Boo, Adrian, or Chris - any or all are OK with me). Our bench and role players also need to have solid games. I believe.
