maybe it's totally irrelevant... but do you think with the Panthers being one of the more talked about potential upset picks that this adds fuel to Alabama's fire? my guess is it likely doesn't. their coaches know full well what they're going into so we're certainly not going to surprise them. i guess i'm just not sure if i really enjoy that people have faith in us pulling this off or if it's giving me more of a false sense of hope. the more i look at Bama and their season the harder it is to figure them out. they blow people out by 30 plus while also losing by 30 albeit to a very good Florida team. either way, i can't wait for this game to start. and i think BP's on the money when he says the first 10 minutes are crucial.

Well........Bama isn't that hard to figure out actually, if you've watched them for years, like we have. If you analyze our losses, you will notice that the first two losses to both Washington (in Alaska) and Wisconsin (in Wisconsin) you'll see that we were in the game in Washington to the bitter end, and missing a 3 at the end of the game, that should have gone in. Washington was the darling of the tournament from the get-go.......and we didn't get many calls. We basically took apart Minnesota the game prior, and beat the UA Anchorage team the night before that (which pitted the locals against us too).
Well, Wisconsin (as i'm sure you know) is not a place where you get many calls, and basically they held (literally) Shelton all night long.........
A practice that Vanderbilt witnessed and used religiously against us in Nashville......they got up huge, we fought back, and basically ran out of gas.
Our other losses were to Florida (got blown out, and basically a bad game from the starters.....but was after a long stretch of most of our games on the road in the conference, and we were just flat out tired, and got beat)
We lost to LSU in Baton Rouge by 2.....on a flukey tip in at the buzzer, after beating them by 16 in Tuscaloosa, and I still believe on a neutral court, we win by 10 easily over LSU.
We lost to UK in Tuscaloosa, but were in the game until the end, and finally the UK Mystique (as well as 40 minutes of chuck, grab, hold, and slap basketball)......Shelton just couldn't get his shots to fall, and SPARKS was ballistic....
Then we drop the nailbiter to a HOT Gator team in the SEC by 6......and we saw what they did to UK the next day.
One thing about this Bama team. We WIN the games we are SUPPOSED to WIN........and that is what separates us from previous Bama teams. We will give teams above us a tussle, and we'll beat the teams below us consistently by 10+ points.
If you see Bama fans predicting a 15+ point victory, that's mainly because we figure that our Free Throw shooting ultimately makes the difference. You can't foul Davis, Shelton, Winston or Steele.......they all are 75% or better, and during clutch times.....all shoot about 90%....
Good luck to everyone......but don't think that because we were 7-3 in our last ten, that we are an "overachieving" bunch....I don't think losing At LSU, to UK and to UF as being bad losses.........and after all Slaughtering an NCAA team in Miss State by 49.........should scare even the Illini a little.
