I read this article on JS Online...
www.jsonline.com/sports/ncaa05/mar05/309579.asp
And since I live in Madison, I was curious to see if WISC-TV3 was going to give the same treatment to the Panthers. So I dropped them an email.
Hello,
I checked on the Channel 3000 web site, and I understand that you will be carrying the 1st Round UWM vs. Alabama game on Thursday. I would like to ask if the game has been designated a 'constant feed' game? As I understand it, that would mean the network is supposed to show it from start to finish and leave the game to show other games only at halftime or other long breaks in the action. I am a huge fan of all Wisconsin sports teams, and I'm sure that many others are as well. And I am sure that they would appreciate that type of coverage.
Also, I receive WISC over the air in HDTV, and I am very happy that the tournament will be shown in HD.
Thanks, Phil
Here's the reply...
Phil,
Thanks for your e-mail. WISC-TV was assigned the Alabama/UW-Milwaukee game on Thursday morning but was not granted "constant" status for it. We did, however, request to be given constant coverage, and although we have not heard definitively yet, this is a request that the network would typically grant.
But if you are watching the game on WISC-DT, you will have constant coverage of it because the HDTV feeds do not vary. So no matter what, you will be happy with our Panthers coverage on Thursday.
Thanks again.

It is certainly a good sign that the Madison CBS affiliate understands the importance of having the Panthers on.
