In the first half, did it seem like Green Bay went less to the basket? They used quick pull-up midrange jump shots quite a bit in the first half, which really seemed to be a defensive problem for us. At least it certainly got UWGB hot. It seemed like they broke the press at will in the first half, resulting in lots of open space at their end of the court. They moved the ball well, and had all sorts of open looks. Of course, they were shooting lights out as well, which helps.

In my own opinion, college basketball is slowly getting out of control....fans continue to embarrass themselves and chant nasty things....can't we all just support our team and get into the other teams's heads without doing something obscene? I'm quoting this so that people will read it again. Great point, BigD.

i look at the game this way, GB played above their heads, milwaukee played average at best and we still had a chance to win with 1:40 to go. it was a tough loss cause we'd really be on a roll but we'll recover. sometimes it takes a stinging loss to spur another win streak. let's hope we can start a streak that goes long into march.
as for the shirts, give me a break?! i can't believe we're even talking about them... especially after our f#ck marquette shirts.

I was kind of surprised someone at GB took the initiative to make them. Thought it was even more funny that their student section mimmicked every one of our chants.

Its different when a handfull of idiot fans with the f**k Marquette shirts wear them, compared to how many hundred handed out before a game.

The shirts were tasteless, but the game left a worse taste in my mouth as i left. Although I found it very funny that some GB fans were calling us rich people when we left, and that our parents pay our tuition ;D ;D ;D I couldn't help but laugh at them and correct them, that it was MU that holds that distinct honor. It sucked that we lost but I do think it was a great crowd by the GB fans, that place was extremely loud (probably because a certain pro team is out of the playoffs and they had nothing better to do), but I would love to see the Cell get that loud. The sides of the arena were louder that their student section.
The loss sucked but I had a great time with the car load of people I drove with (Encore do you want more!)

Lou, you're a good man. But I completely disagree that officiating had no impact on the outcome of the game. Two absolutely phantom calls on Joah and a marked disparity in second-half fouls clearly had a major hand in the outcome. Saturday, Joah was unquestionably the best player on the floor (8-of-12, 20 points) and having him on the bench for nine minutes of the second half wore away at our depth and enabled GB to go with essentially a seven-man rotation. This was in stark contrast to the first meeting, when the officials called a much looser game. That having been said, a loss to GB wasn't totally unexpected and not the end of the world.

I am going to refrain from saying that the officiating "cost" us the game, but I will say there were some obviously bad calls (as is typical in nearly every HL game). The thing that got me was the incomsistency........one second they were letting the big guys knock each other silly, and the next they were calling a tick tack foul away from the ball. The next time down the court they would let a hand check go, with the same thing being called a minute or two later. This inconsistency effected both teams........it was just "our turn" to get a whistle blown, and fingers pointed to Joah - unfortunate, but that is what happens on the road, especially in a mid-major league.

I'm taking the sames stance that pnthr30 has. Yes, the officiating was poor, but how is that ever different in ANY Horizon League game?
There will always be bad calls, and no-calls, and the consistency will always be lacking, but we have to deal with that. As a fan, I get as ticked off at the referees as anyone (just ask PANTHERfan) and I like to complain, but at the end of the game, I like to think that the poor calls even out.
Maybe I'm a fool (likely) but I just hate blaming officials for a loss.

I'm sorry, but it's time for UWM fans to chill out and enjoy some of their own medicine. You guys have no place in complaining about another school having no class. Your fans go around doing the most offensive of things, i.e., chanting rapist in front of kids, chanting "boring" when kids participate in time-out events, and on one occasion at the Pavilion, your adult fans (in their 40s and 50s maybe) told me that if I want to root on UIC, I should move to the other side of the Pavilion. The fact of the matter is, you guys have a year of success and you walk around like your !@#$ doesn't stink. You even question your own attitudes sometimes on this board....you can't deny that..... Now I agree that those "bite me" shirts aren't classy, and I would hope UIC fans would never wear shirts like that, but you have to expect it. It appears to be a direct response to what you own assistant coach did....otherwise, why make up "bite me" shirts? Do you really think they'd make up the "bite me" story just so they can then spend all that money and go through all that effort to make those shirts? I doubt it. In which case, it appears that this lack of class runs through your entire organization....from the bottom (you fans) to the top (assistants to the man with the tape recorder, and possibly even above that)..... And, dunzz....please, it's funny to hear you say that the "bite me" shirt idea is lame. But it's no more lame than bruceismyhomeboy t-shirts. Why is one idea lame and not the other? Because the bite-me shirts weren't in team colors? C'mon....I think it was pretty creative if you ask me....not that I agree with it.....but creative. In my own opinion, college basketball is slowly getting out of control....fans continue to embarrass themselves and chant nasty things....can't we all just support our team and get into the other teams's heads without doing something obscene? In any case, I'm sure much of this will happen in the UIC game on Saturday. I still think you guys finish first, and honestly, I was hoping you'd beat Green Bay so we'd have an easier chance of getting that 2 seed. you need some cheese with that Whine? Also your "Flamer I'm one" t-shirts, how original is that! You guys have no chance at a Number 2 seed or at a Horizon championship or even going dancing so go back to your whinning

I agree, I also hate blaiming officials for a loss, but I remember (oddly enough) that with 2min 30sec left in the game and we are not even in the bonus and GB was in the bonus at the 11min mark that was a bit odd. I think the Green Bay Packer fans just needed something to cheer about, they were in a state of depression from the Parkers losing to the Vikings and the refs gave them a good show ;D On a more serious note, we did have chances to win the game dispite the questionable officiating but we didn't get it done. J-Wright WOW 2 amazing dunks! that was great to see from him!

Lou, you're absolutely right about the unpredicable and erratic officiating. Kind of like Green's Bay season on the whole, don't you think?

The main thing about the officiating was the inconsistency of it. If your not going to call fouls, fine, but don't do it for only half the game or one team. It always seems like at least one ref from every game, including home games, hates our guts.
