Hate to actually root for UIC, but if they pull their heads out of their a$$es long enough to beat Detoit tonight and Green Bay on Saturday I wouldn't mind it one bit.

Green Bay is going to have to bring their A game to beat UIC. As we found out last weekend, UWGB cannot run or beat a press...that happens to be a strength of the Flames.
Just like Joah and Ed...Banks will easily be the best player on the floor that night. Who will guard him? Certainly not Rhode.

Be careful what you wish for. A couple of UIC wins over UD and UWGB and they come in here with confidence and momentum. I'm all for kicking them when they are down.

I think on our home floor, if we make it through this rough stretch without a loss, we will be ready to beat down UIC on Feb. 5th... ...I would trade getting ahead of the entire league in the loss column for giving UIC a little momentum... ...what is the tie-breaker for the No. 1 seed if the teams split the season series?

Well, if UIC and UWM were to finish with identical conference records, and splitting the season series, then I believe the tiebreaker goes to the team that has the best record against the 3rd best team in the conference...if that's a tie, it goes to the 4th place team, etc....
I think this is going to be a tough stretch for UIC, and we never play well against Detroit, but be careful, because if we win these next two, we're only one game behind you. Is that better than having Detroit or UWGB one game behind you?

Is that better than having Detroit or UWGB one game behind you? Yes, because we will have been finished playing Detroit and UWGB ... ... and we can put UIC two games behind us (actually three then).

Having UIC one game behind us is better than being tied in the loss column with GB and Detroit... ...obviously we can take care of that when we play them (both on the road), but a little help wouldn't hurt.

Interesting about the Loyola win, because just yesterday I saw a bumper sticker (which I've seen numerous times previous) saying "It's a good day to be a Rambler" Thinking about it while stuck in rush hour traffic, I said to myself "It's never a good day to be a Rambler!".
But, now I see that that bumper sticker did hold true for at least one day!

Now I'd rather see UWGB beat UIC on Saturday and then have UIC return the favor to them at home. Just let the 4-2 teams split their series and beat each other up ...
Saturday's game at Detroit is HUGE.

Yep, you're right. And if you think about it ... UIC and UWGB do as well.
Things are tight, but last night was a welcomed surprise for UWM's situation.
Now NO letdowns, period.

Definitely time to stop cheering for UIC. This is the time when Banks starts to shine. I doubt UWGB stands a chance against them. This is a must win for GB, or I think their season might be falling out of control...
