I don't want to be overly negative, but as a long time UWM fan, I was really disappointed with the technical difficulties during the Manhattan game last Thursday. The fact that the broadcast kept cutting out and they kept playing commercials to cover dead air was so bush league.
I had the feeling I was listening to the in-building broadcast of a high school game from a student radio station.
It seems like there are a lot of people working very hard to sell this team to the Milwaukee community as a legitimate college basketball program. It's a shame that corners have been cut in terms of the game broadcast.
I know technical difficulties happen, but barring a power outage or horrible weather, I can't imagine this type of stuff happening during a UW or MU radio broadcast.
Needless to say, if I were a casual fan or a non-fan that stumbled across the broadcast, I would have tuned out after the second or third occurrence of dead air. That's not a luxury UWM can have. The program needs every chance to win people over and build support.
The Panthers are doing so well and have so much to offer, in terms of being a fan of the team, second-rate radio broadcasts are not the way to build interest and excitement in the program!

I agree with you that is is frustrating (and shouldn't happen on a regular basis). But also remember, that this was an away game - chances are good that UWM had nothing to do with these "difficulties". They radio show/production pretty much consists of Bill. He goes to the game, plugs in, and he is done with his portion of the production (with the obvious exception of calling the game), the rest is really out of his hands. The problem could have been from the facility, the radio station (which kind of falls on UWM's shoulders), transmission, etc. - in other words, to many variables to point fingers (just yet). If this would happen continually, or at home games, I think something should be addressed, but right now I think it is just one of those growing pains that we have to live with.
On a side note, MU did have some technical difficulties in one of their recent games, and their fans are up in arms about it.
