A few notes from the game:
- Moral victories are nice, but that was a game we could have won last night - Ed McCants was the best player on the floor in the second half - Boo Davis is still struggling to adjust to the flow of this team. The team looked a lot better when Hill was running the offense - Free throw shooting is hurting this team - Speaking of free throws, does anyone have an uglier shot than James Wright. Ugh...James, it hurts to watch man! - Can someone please tell WMLW that the game against Butler is THURSDAY January 6th? Is it too much to ask that they know the schedule? - Ford played with a purpose, I think he's going to be OK - Defensive rebounding looked great. If we can rebound like that all year, we will DOMINATE the HL - Kudos to Bruce Pearl for getting the team prepared to play. Further kudos for keeping our guys playing our game, and not lettin things get out of control (see: Wisconsin)

lou, i'm in total agreement. last night was a winnable game. the free throws really held us back. it looked like james wright went to the line for the first time in his life and didn't know what he was supposed to do. KU missed a bunch early on but closed strong in the last 5 minutes. i was most encouraged by Ed and Derrick's performances. i've been concerned about Ford not playing his role but i thought he really stepped up against a premiere team. that dunk was incredible! i also thought McCoy played well early on. he clanked some 3's but defensively did well for a good portion of the game. Boo forced some shots last night that he had no business putting up. i agree that the team looked a lot better with Hill running the show. Davis needs some confidence. seems to me when he gets rattled he forces out of control shots and that needs to stop. overall i'd say it nice to know we didn't see a team A-game last night, yet were within striking distance with a couple minutes to go. it speaks volumes of what this team has the potential to do. let's just hope they take what they need from this game and turn this L into a long string of W's.

Imo, KU played like they brought their b game....played like a #2 when pushed to perform/Panthers made a run.
It was important for the panthers to be competitive following the Badgirls game, and they did that. Huge confidence lift. They ALL played like they didn't want to be embarrassed again. Same mentality should prevail for the rest of the season, and MUST prevail if we are to make any kind of noise if/when the post season should arrive.

Kansas did not play at their best. I'm sure that Bill Self was not to pleased with their performance.
That's why I say this was a game we could have won. Had we played at the level I believe we are capable of, we could have pulled it out.
That said, i'm very proud of the performance.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Lou. We needed a few more players than Ed, Adrian and Big D to step up.
