I'm checking the U.S. Cellular Arena schedule right now ... the only conflict would be a Wave game at 4 p.m. Saturday the 6th, so I'm not sure about the feasibility of moving that.
If this turns out to be true and plays out this way, it's just one more example why some people aren't on the ball at the Athletic Dept. They could've negotiated with the Wave to move their Saturday several weeks ago. Now if it comes down to a last-minute situation, the likelihood of that happening is very slim.

I am speechless after reading this! How this could happen is beyond me! Inexcusable! The only thing worse than this would be playing in Chicago at the Pavilion. So we need GB to win so that it keeps UIC from getting the #2 seed.

Does anyone know why this game couldn't be played at Klotsche? I know it's a much smaller venue, but I'd rather see a packed Klotsche than an away game if it comes to that.

I seriously doubt that the conference would let us have a tournament game at the Klotche Center. We need to start kissing the Wave's a** right now, and maybe they will help us out and be cooperative.

It says in the Green Bay Press-Gazette story, and I'm assuming this came from a league official, that the Klotsche Center is unfit to host men's tournament games. Why? I have no idea.

No way in hell should the games be moved to the Resch Center. Since UWM and the Wave have a good relationship, I would think tht the game culd be moved to make room for the 2 games on Saturday. I don't know how long it would take to change the floor, but why can't the first game start at 11 and the second game starts at 1:30, with the wave game starting at 8 or so. Or switch it around and have the Wave game first. Since no teams play on Sunday, you could start the last game at 9 or 9:30. On a side note, this would suck for me being a season ticket holder if the game moved to the Resch. Would I receive a ticket for the games since i payed for it in my package. Knowing how well our Ticket manager workers (LaVarr ___________ you can fill in the blank with your own word), I am pretty sure I would be screwed and not happy about it!!!

If this is allowed to happen....I can't think of a more damaging scenario for the fan base that has been built up over the past few years.

Is the BC free? I know it would cost more to "rent" but hopefully the department would be willing to anty up and bite the bullet to keep an extra game in Milwaukee.
There is no doubt that this scene could get very ugly, very quickly. It would present problems with ticketing, as well as unhappy fans around the HL.
EDIT: Nevermind about the BC. There is an Admirals game there on Friday (7:00 PM), and on Sat. there is a Marquette (vs. Louisville) game there at 12:00 PM and an Admirals game there at 8:00 PM.

I think that something SHOULD be able to be worked out with the Wave. They do not play Friday night, but they do play again on Sunday at home at 1:00 PM. Therefore, I don't think there is much of a chance that they would want to push their game any later than 4:00 (scheduled time) on Saturday. We can only hope that they (and Kansas City) agree to move the game to an earlier time on Saturday. If they move it to 1:00 PM on Saturday (for instance), I think that would work things out.
I hope someone is working on this as we speak!

How come no one at UWM said anything about this earlier? Were they hoping no one would notice? What a joke. They let everyone believe they would have a chance to host when all along they had to know the Arena was booked. How come the first time we're hearing about this is in the Green Bay paper? I suppose this is all a moot point if Butler wins their first round game.

Well, you are correct, this is all a moot point if BU wins its first game..............but, in all seriousness, does the UWM athletic deparment know about this potential issue? I hope it is not something that was overlooked on accident!

I can pretty much guess that NO ONE at the athletic department knows about this.
Hell, in mid-January or so I was getting ready to order tickets for the game at Butler and I noticed on Butler's Web site that the game had been switched to Wednesday (tonight) instead of Thursday.
I called the Butler ticket office to confirm and they said the game had been switched a few weeks prior.
So I then call UWM's ticket office to double-confirm and this is what I got ... "Ummmmmm, ahhhhh, hmmmmmm ... the game is on the Thursday here. We haven't heard about a change."
FINALLY, two or three weeks later, UWM puts out a release stating that the Butler game had been moved to the Wednesday.
Reading this thread, I feel better that I'm not the only one frustrated ... and just received this over a mass e-mail from another fan:
"Also, for the Butler game, my schedule reflects 2/19 (not today). I did at one time ask if there were tickets for the Butler game but never received any notification. Too late now but was wondering."
Bottom line ... If you want to be respected and be big time, you have to start acting big time. In this regards, UWM is still Division III.

Couple of things. Yes, the UWM people did know about this and tried to work things out. Remember, the US Cellular Arena is NOT owned by UWM.
This is also the first season of us going back down there. We don't run the place...yet. Efforts were made to have the Wave move its game. But, it couldnt be done. Remember, the Wave have first rights and they've bent over backwards for UWM on numerous occasions.
Secondly, this only the Saturday game for UWM. Certainly not ideal but if the Panthers advance to the title game that WILL be at US Cellular Arena on Tuesday.
Again, if Butler wins its quarterfinal game it wont matter anyway. This is more the league's fault than anyone elses.
Now, onto the Butler game change. That game had always been scheduled for the original date. UWM WANTED to play on Wednesday originally but Butler made a big deal out of it. Now, halfway through the season Butler changes the game without much notification and clarification.
Once both UWM and Butler could clarify things, updates were sent out. Hope this helps.

Is Beanocook on the UWM payroll, otherwise how do you know for sure that the Wave game can't be moved. I agree, if Butler wins in the first round this is all a moot point but if they lose..................
