Yes, it was dismal. But UW was a bad matchup for UWM with its height and strength, and particularly with Ed still mired in his horrendous slump.
Bruce Pearl will get these guys moving in the right direction again, and quickly. Kansas is likely to be just as rough, but at this level you play the non-con to prepare for the conference. We're not going to see teams like UW or KU in conference.
I saw a lot of good things by the Panthers last night. They worked and fought. If they had hit a few more shots in the first half it would have been interesting. The last five minutes was just exhaustion and disappointment showing.
Keep the faith, folks. It's no sin to lose -- even badly -- to a very big, tough, experienced team with a great coach in one of the toughest places to play in the country. It won't define the season.

I couldn't agree anymore, if everyone is going to pack it up at this point then you shouldn't be on this board or going to games. I agree the season has been somewhat of a disapoinment, but if we start getting down about it and trashing our players it will only get worse. I think we can still turn things around, we just have a bit of work to do. we still need to keep pushing UWM and getting people to home games, if we can't get people to the games then every home game will be like a road game or postseason game.

good to see some positive energy. i really don't think the season has been disappointing at all. it would have taken a tremendous effort to end wisconsin's winning streak. 6-2 is nothing to feel bad about. the valpo loss was tough, but they're a decent team, and at the end of the season i bet it doesn't look like a bad loss at all. otherwise, we've nailed down a couple nice non-conference wins, we're 1-0 in the conference winning arguably our most difficult road game, and we're toughening up to hit the bulk of the horizon schedule. a win over manhatten would be great. 500 ball on the road against quality teams will be a very successful run in my mind. i think we have a lot to look forward to.

I disagree that this season has been a disappointment so far this season. Realistically--I would have expected at least 1-2 losses at this point when looking at the schedule at the beginning of the season. We played Air Force, Valpo, Wisconsin, and St. Louis with 3 of the 4 on the road. 6-2 is not a bad guys!! Every team plays a few bad games during a season--hopefully we just played our worst 2 back to back. I think that Bruce will have the guys working super-hard this week because he doesn't want another embarrasing outing in Kansas.

If on December 3 you would have told me that we would go 2-2 against UIC, St. Louis, Valpo, & Wisconsin, i would have taken it. The matter of how we won or lost is going to be insignificant in March.
So we played bad 2 games in a row.Big deal. These were 2 non-conference road games. It doesn't change a thing. The number one goal of this team is and always will be to win the conference championship. The last two games are not going to factor in this directly. In fact, I am of the opinion that tough road games in non-conference play will pay dividends come February and March.
Remember, the goal is to be playing our best basketball in March, not December.
p.s. In my opinion, the number one way to win fans and gain support is to win Conference championships and make NCAA appearances and win NCAA games.
