i was trying to think of something that would get fans more into the beginning of the game....not sure if many of you have seen it but if we could somehow get ahold of news papers, such as ones that are picked up throughout the union or extras in the dorms and hand it out to the students in the section.....when the opponents are announced the whole crowd puts the papers up like were not paying attention then tear them up so when the announcer says and your milwaukee panthers we throw up tons of newspaper confetti..its looks really cool if you can get a large number of people doing it....just an idea....i think we need more cheers like the bruce pearl that all the fans know and want to participate in...any one else got any ideas throw them out there...

I remeber doing that in high school. NOt a bad idea. i dont know who the cell would feel about us making a big mess. and shreding news paper, before they announce that will be hard. were talking about 90 seconds of being turned around. we should reformulate like at UIC, have an already stashed amount of confetti.

in years past, we've done the whole newspaper thing. personally I think its disrespectful to the opposing team, the same as how I feel about turning our backs on them. plus, its the best time to see names to faces, and think of silly cheers like "elroy".
the confetti thing has also been done before, but we would do it for our first points scored. a few of us older student fans did it at UIC, but it probably went unnoticed with only a handful of people doing it.
as for the Bruce Pearl Chant, there are a few rules: 1. thou shall NEVER use the Bruce Pearl Chant before 1:00 left in the game. 2. thou shall not stop the Bruce Pearl Chant until time has expired in the game. 3. thou shall know when it is appropriate to use the Bruce Pearl Chant. 4. thou shall make sure everyone around them is participating in the Bruce Pearl Chant.
I think thats all the rules. I think others will agree that the chant is most effectively performed when everyone understands there is only 1 time in the game when it is done.

true, but it was pretty funny at the south dakota state game when the BP chant was done early in the 2nd half! The game was already over.

Why would you rip it up? That will be a collectors item eventually.
I still have my copy today. Sure it sucks we lost, but it is nice to go back and look at once in a while.
