Alright, i didnt want to post this in my other thread about Busses cause I thought it would get lost.
I talked with Athletics tonight and verified that we have only two busses that are going down to UIC. They have only filled one and want to get the next one full. So far only 65 bus seats have been filled. We NEED to get a huge turnout at UIC. So, remember, $15 for the ticket and bus ride, that is a hell of a deal. Just go to Merill hall and pay the $15.

If any of you have the chance to go to UIC this weekend for the game, GO! You won't soon forget it. $15 to have a Designated Driver down to Chicago and back. It is probably the second most difficult stadium for the team to play in, my judgement, Butler being #1. The Pavilion although never full and usually half full with 3' tall 3rd graders is a very difficult place to play. I've had the privledge to go the during the past 3 seasons,
in 01-02 watched a heart breaking lost at the end of the game thanks to a 3pt bank shot from 30ft. It sucked, trust me and then to be escorted out by the police because little kids and adults wanted to assult 8 UWM fans that ruled the pav with paper megaphones and signs for the entire night! despite the lose it rocked non the less.
02-03 another lose, unfortuanely
03-04 braving a snow storm to reach the game in a little over 2hrs i got to see Pearl get tosed from the game, a horribly reffed game with DP in a leg cast on the court. then the snow storm back to UWM to pull an all-nighter to finish my architecture project and present the next day, i got an A.
04-05 well that's up to you, i finally can't make it for once and i hope the're happy about it.
There is something to say about being at a Panther home game but your experience is heightened when you hit the road with the team, all of you that have know what i'm talking about. Last year we took over the Resch Center in GB, about 60 people and the place was sold out, they set an attendance record and they lost, suckas.
I always think about going to a game like this, what are you going to remember in 2,5 or 10 yrs from now, doing homework, or working. The answer is neither, that stuff all blurrs together but you'll always remember a Panther game, GO PANTHERS!!

at the game last night me and the people around me were discussing the bus trip. there were like 4-5 people behind us (close enough to hear the conversation) and they were all like "there's a bus to UIC??? How do we get on it or find out about it?" they were all dorm people. i bet if this school actually tried to advertise this type of stuff in the dorms, sending an email to the student body, ect... there would be a huge responce to this. all of the people we informed of the bus last night at least said they were going to get on the bus. its just a shame, its a sat night game in chicago. with decent advertising only in the dorms we should have at least 3 busses going down. not to metion the alums and us older fans. i cant wait for sat. I have been excited all week (it was hard not overlooking SDS) and now after that rout i am even more excited. this year i decided to pull a devin on the bus (camelback filled with long island). man is it gonna be a good time. I cant wait to see everyone wearing their Gold shirts Bruce is my homeboy gold shirts would look best in my opinion (non-bias) <-yeah right...we will be trying to sell them to most of the people going to chicago. Knowing how much they hate bruce it will be nice to see their reaction to hopefully 100 people wearing bruce's face !on their shirt. GO UWM! UIC drinks my PEE - Joey

Im gonna agree with Devin for sure! Going on any road trip is the best way to represent our team and show them exactly how much of a powerhouse UWM is.
No one that has gone on these bus trips, weather it be to UIC, Butler, Loyola, GB, or the infamous NCAA Tourny game will ever forget the fun we have on the busses and the amount of Pather Pride we bring with us to these cities! I am really jelous to all those that can make it to the game this Saturday. I know im gonna try my hardest to go to the Valpo game. Have a fun time rocking the house at UIC! ;D

Good luck bustnig down the gates of the dorms for advertising. They guard their advertising space like hawks, and virtually eliminate any ties to UWM. As I recall they are technically a seperate entity from the school and therefor can do as they please. But c'mon now, stretch your neck out, skip advertising random nonsense programs and support the athletics programs.

I would agree I had the best time on the bus trip down to Butler last year when we went for the conference tournament. ;D It wasn't our fault we couldn't find a liquor store, we had to ask someone

Last year was my first year attending UWM basketball games. I think the road trips to the games is what completely pulled me in to wanting to get to as many games as I can. If you have the chance to get to one of the away games, I would definitely recommend it!

i gotta wonder just how pissed UIsh*tty is gonna be when we out cheer and yell and scream their entire crowd again in this game.......... after reading a few things over on that copy-cat board of theirs it looks like they have NO CLUE what they have in store for this game...and actually i don't think that any HL team does. they are talking on their board "well maybe UWM is bigger" & "I don't think that they have anyone that is as fast as McGee (rapist) & FRESHMAN Karl White" Yeah ok guys just you wait is my response. from what i have read it looks like UIsh*tty has MAJOR problems breaking the press, and if I'm not mistaken what is it that we have been really, really good at this year? Oh, wait that right the press. So get ready UIsh*tty cuz here we come a bunch of amped up Panther fans that want nothing less than the raosting of that fat ass Barney wanna be. ;D LET"S GO UWM!!!!

It's always great to hear about another fan drawn into Panther basketball!! (skv323)
The only way to transform the advertising dept at UWM is to get rid of jason clark, or have someone help him along. I remember back in the day of the SB&GC and PantherPride meetings with help of SA, we basically told them what to do and how to do it. The only way to guarantee promotion is to do it yourself, unfortunately it is the only way that works.
I can remember going to the dorms on non game days dressed in blk & gld with a megaphone and fliers advertising games and showing school spirit.
We know where we can reach most of our fan base, at the games and on campus. Before each game their should be a meeting in the stands of sorts, if someone stands up and says whats going on it might spark some excitement for the fans.
Just remember guys we still have access to e-mail refelctors, get everyones e-mail that shows up to the games, ask them if they want to be kept in touch with games and trips, cheers and general information.
When the bus trips originated it was out of the PantherPride meetings with the coaches and supporters, SB&GC and SA had a pretty close knit group that was able to fill a bus or two, now we have to branch out and get those younger fans.
It would defaintely help if the advertising dept got it together, we should try to get 920am to offer the buses during the BP on bball show monday nights but also pre or post games at the Cell.

Devin, i hear you're coming back. looking forward to seeing you in the stands again. i can attest to how fun these road trips are. the GB game was a blast last year. the ride there was a non-stop party... the game was amazing and our section literally took the place over.
we just got our tickets for the bus to UIC (2 of us). we're meeting a couple more people there who are driving. i can't wait. i hope to see a ton of black and gold in the stands. seriously, if anyone is on the fence on this one, stop thinking and buy the tickets already! you will not regret this and you'll gain a whole new appreciation for the support our team has.

If you're calling someone a tool you should realize that you have the wrong logo as your icon. we've told you this a few times now. Are you that dumb that you don't realize this you FLAMER? I guess it's not that difficult to get into UIC based on the intelligence of this a$$ clown!!!
