Just to let you know: South Dakota St. has gone 0-3 so far this season, with losses at Butler (80-52), Manhattan (73-69) and UIC (80-66). They are led by forwards Steve Holdren (a freshman averaging 13 points and 6.3 rebounds) and Ben Beran (a sophomore averaging 12 points and 5.7 rebounds). This is a dangerous game only in that it comes between Air Force and UIC. Let's keep the team playing at a fever pitch.

yep, i agree about the let-down factor. they can't look past this team. they gave manhatten a game. hopefully they'll stay focused and take care of business.

I disagree with this being a let down game. After playing that boring style against Air Force, they are going to be out there running and gunning. Expect this game to be a blow out.

Steve Holdren sounds like hes a really player if hes a freshman putting up those numbers.
However, the younger they are the easier it is to get in their heads.
The 6th Man will have to come in and give it to them.

Since theyve played Butler, Manhattan and UIC I think it will be interesting. We play all those teams and we can use this game as a baramoter to see how we compare.

Let's just hope that we don't spend more time looking ahead and preparing for Saturday's game vs UIC. Definately a more challenging, and more substantial game than Sout Dakota St., but no reason to over look them on our winning streak.

Hey Panther fans,
Just wanted to say, as an SDSU alum who know calls Milwaukee his home, I hope the Jacks give you guys a good game tonight. This is probably our least talented and youngest team in 8 years, but they're getting better. It's just too bad our talent level is so low in our first year of D-I. I plan on being at the game to root for the Jacks. Aside from my wife and the coaches, I may be the only one.
By the way, it's deplorable the way Marquette keeps ducking you guys, but it is the smart move on their part. They have nothing to gain by playing a UWM team that would most likely beat them this year.
Good luck tonight. Here's hoping you guys have an off night and we sneak out our first D-I win.

Greeting Panther fans, Kingsbury came over to our board so I thought I would drop by. For those who don't know much about SDSU (and I am guessing that is all of you) here is a little intro about my Jackrabbits. Let me start by saying how excited we are to be playing a team the caliber of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. SDSU is South Dakota's largest and only D-I University (we are in our first season as members of D-I). We have an enrollment of 10,954 and are located in Brookings, SD. Our Colors are Blue and Yellow and we play our games on campus at Frost Arena (Cap. 9000). The Men's team has won a NCAA D-II National Championship, a NCAA D-II Runner-Up and has made 24 NCAA D-II Tournaments (3rd most all time) including 8 of the last 10 years. This past season we spent much of the year ranked # 2 in the Nation. We beat the eventual D-II National Champions by 15 on a neutral court at the Disney Tip-Off Classic. We finished the season on a down note. Due to key injuries and an off night we lost in the second round of of the tournament. Our Women's team has been to three straight Elite 8s and won the National Championship in '03. Both the Men and Women lead the Nation in NCAA D-II attendence last year. This was a first for the Women. The Men have done it before (1996, '97, '98, 2000, '02, and '04). If you want to know more here is the Offical SDSU site: www.gojacks.com
