Yes, we won by 37 but I do not believe that we can come away with a win on Sunday if we play like that. Based on what I saw tonight, there's a good chance a matchup zone by Air Force could easily take us from our game. I loved the way our defense picked up though after they cut it to 21. Although many of the shots were in and out, it's safe to say that Boo and Ed were not themselves from beyond the arc.
Individually, Ford looked great scrapping inside, getting put backs, etc. For as big as he is he's got great touch. Also, very impressed with McCoy. For a so called "role player" it seems he can go on some spurts where he'll fill it up. Other than that, Tigert efficient as usual...Davis missed a lot of shots but did create many turnovers on defense. Hill looked good off the bench and Tucker although not scoring so high, showed that his game has vastly improved.
Look forward to Sunday and I hope to see a lot of people there. I know the game is Sunday afternoon but we need everyone to be raucous and loud because this is a huge game. We need payback because last year they embarrassed us and now it's their turn.

good call tuck. they did not look anywhere near as sharp as they were in the first game in my opinion. Im sure BP will have a few thingns to say tommorrow at practice. Ed and Boo really did look like they were a bit off tonite but your right with McCoy that guy had a great game, and Ford as well. You gotta give Parside credit tonite though they played hard all teh way til the last whistle, unlike what PV did. I thought that Parkside played really well on defense and i bet if they play that way in their regualr season that they do some damage to the other teams in their division, they were very aggressive on the defensive end, something that I did not expect. But a win is a win and i will take it anyway that they come now its on to Air Force. Lets fry up some Falcon, what do you say?

To be fair, they've been preparing for Air Force in practice for like the last 2 weeks, even though we had 2 opponents before.
And we better beat them, UIC just raised the stakes for the whole conference after their game against Georgia Tech. They WON that game, regardless of what went on their record. For all intents and purposes, that was a W, and we have to step it up if we're gonna own the League this year.

UWM certainly looked "bored" in the 2nd half of the Parkside game. You almost have to feel sorry for our guys who had to play four games in a row against opponents who are probably easier for them than pickup games they could put together on the street. No offense to the teams we played, but they just weren't very competitive.
I think that may help our players by giving them a lot of built up energy and excitement when Air Force comes back to Milwaukee on Sunday. I should be a great game!

I had one other observation from the Parkside game. It seemed like Ed was frustrated for a great deal of the game. Parkside does deserve some credit, as they did a much better job defending him, especially in the second half. But it looked like his teamates were not finding him when he had open looks. Boo was 1-6 from beyond the arc--but he took some shots when Ed was wide open in the corner. I think it is vital that they get the ball to Ed whenever he is open beyond the arc if they want a chance at beating some of the top notch teams on our schedule such as Air Force, Kansas, and Wisconsin.

Let's be honest: If Ed and others are to get open looks from behind the arc or down low, it's vital that Chris Hill or Allan Hanson is on the court for a good part of the game. As a point guard, Boo is a terrific wing.

I was not happy with our second half performance. It seemed like boo was on a pattern cycle every 3 plays storming down the court trying to score with in ten seconds by himself. Whenever a team has the lead its important to let everyone touch the ball, and eat some clock. Sometimes it was more of break transition, but for Boo's case he was not able to finish consistently when he drove it himself.
And I also agree with you guys with McCants. He was open many a time, only to watch Joah or Boo take an awkward shot.
Boo Davis only had 1 assist i believe, thats very scary for a point guard.
Also on offense, i did not feel we moved around enough. They looked very slouchish, something we can not do against a very well conditioned team like air force.
As usual i was very impressed with our Big Men.

agreed dunzz, we're going to need to distribute the ball like we did against pvamu if we're going to beat air force. they move the ball well on offense and create havoc on d. we'll need unselfish play on both ends to overcome this. that or a heroic effort by someone a la travis diener from marquette. he's the only reason they won that game. half his shots were fade away jumpers. i think we have a better chance at giving AF a balanced attack

It was a win, but the way they played wasnt anything special. Ed was off. Boo was off, I would like to see him do something on offense vs. air force. Tigert was steady, Hill was ok, Tucker was ok, ford and mccoy looked good. They took way too many 3's. It reminded me of a few years ago when that's all they would do. They have to get the ball inside, and they have to slash towards the bucket. I love Ed, but he's got to do more than just hang out on the 3 point line. Give the ball to Ford!

Throw it down big man! Derrick Ford has the potential to be team MVP. We've never had his presence, athleticism, smart defense or size in the paint for a true center. Bring on Air Force! -UWMfreak

In all fairness, we did back off on the pressure defense in the second half and make a more concerted effort to work the ball down to Big D in the second half. I thought Chris played better than OK. It's just that, like Allan, his minutes were so limited. I look for even better things from J-Mac.
