Just for fun, let's give a quick overview of the roster for this season. The players are ranked on the basis of their value to the team, not necessarily on their overall athletic ability.
1, Ed McCants (need I say more) 2, Joah Tucker (same as above) 3, Boo Davis (a good point guard is so valuable) 4, Derrick Ford (ditto for a dominant big man) 5, Adrian Tigert (post passing is too often overlooked) 6, Jason McCoy (great height for a wing) 7, James Wright (a crafty, veteran presence) 8, Rob Sanders (if troubled shoulder holds up) 9, Chris Hill (a real luxury: a sub with starting experience) 10, Derrick Wimmer (the next Jason Frederick?) 11, Allen Hanson (watch out in 2005) 12, Mark Pancratz (a model of energy and hustle)

I would move Tigert way up the list. Also, while Davis is talented, the jury is still out on him as a legit PG. He is a legit DI player, but not sure about the PG skills.
I would move Hill ahead of McCoy, Wright and Sanders as well. He has proven quite a bit more.

There's no way that Hill should be that far down on the list. He should definately be in the top 6. Sanders, should be ahead of Wright. Tigert ahead of Ford.

Everyone is entitled to his opinion but here's my reasoning for the lower placement of Chris and Adrian. We have three point guards, including Allan, whom we can mix and match. This makes Chris less essential than a year ago when we had only him and Kalombo. In the meantime, while Adrian is tremendously skilled, he's not always the most assertive player and often defers to his teammates (not an altogether bad trait). In the meantime, as Big D gets his conditioning, he's going to be a force in the Horizon. Who honestly can match up with 6-10, 245?

1. Ed McCants (duhhhhhh) 2. Tigert most experienced, full health, smartest player on the team, creates the most shots, biggest problem for the opposing defense, will be getting double doubles all year, expect scoring to improve 3. Joah Tucker great insider player, points points points, 4.Boo Davis speed, shot 40% behind the 3, could have a break out year 5-6 FORD/McCOY (no order) both are very very big, d-FENCE!, biggest problem for the opposing offense, 9. Sanders MORE DEFENCE, quick arms, great dunks, 8. Hill sneaky little devil (steals), coming off the bench with experience will stump defences, 9. Pancratz experience, energizer bunny, 10. Wimmer, great shooter, I want him to get more time 11. Hanson have not seen much of him.
honorable mention, James Wright, that’s right.

I would agree with the list made by dunzz.....and i would like to add that i think tigert is vastly underrated and everyone on this board to man up to his PIMP status

With the warmup games now complete, it's obvious that my original ranking of players needs an update. Here goes:
1, Ed McCants (can you say Player of the Year?) 2, Derrick Ford (this was a hard choice, but here we have a center who can dominate smaller teams) 3, Adrian Tigert (it's so easy to take him for granted) 4, Joah Tucker (no rap on Joah, but we have so many good forwards) 5, Chris Hill (has a stabilizing effect on the team) 6, Jason McCoy (like Big D, he's a dream; a big wing who can guard on the perimeter and block shots) 7, Boo Davis (still can be a lethal complement to Ed) 8, James Wright (a veteran player who cleans up at the rim) 9, Allan Hanson (he'll be a star in a year or two) 10, Rob Sanders (trying to mend that balky shoulder) 11, Derrick Wimmer (should see the court more next year) 12, Mark Pancratz (better that it's nerve damage than a stress fracture)

i really like what i've seen out of Ford and McCoy. they're both steadily improving. Ford should be able to dominate as he gets more aggressive. McCoy handles the ball better than i expected and has a smooth shot. i really like his potential. i'm still kind of frustrated with Tucker. the guy obviously has the talent and ability to change a game. i was watching him last night and he was constantly looking to shoot a perimeter ball. i know he worked on that during the summer, but i think we need him to work the ball inside. i'm concerned about our half court game and he could really help us out there. any thoughts on his game thus far?

I agree with Pantherfan. Ford and McCoy do look better each game. I also was upset with Tucker. It looks like he is forcing shots. need him down low.
