With Hanson playing in the exibition game, he is no longer elgible to red-shirt, correct? This is a very interesting move with Davis & Hill both capable of running the point. BP must have plans for Hanson otherwise I would have expected him to red-shirt. What does the board think Hanson will get for minutes and is there a chance that he could play ahead of Hill?

I don't know if he can still be redshirted or not. Either way, I thought that he would get some playing time this year. He looked good out there for his first college game. A little nervous, but he started all 4 years at tosa east, so I think he will do just fine as a freshman at UWM. I think he will probably get between 6-8 min. per game this year.-------How many minuets a game does everybody think D. Wimmer will get this year?

Good question on Hanson. I'm no expert in the area, but Boo Davis did play in the exhibition game last year against Southern Indiana and he ended up redshirting. I think Hanson could redshirt and I'd like to see it.

The reason I ask is because I heard they changed the rules this year. I have some friends that are huge Badger fans and they indicated to me that Steisma (sp??) won't be playing in the exhibition games this year, so that he has the option to redshirt or not.

I believe he can still be redshirted, as I think Chris Hill did the same thing in 02-03.
As for Wimmer, I doubt he'll crack the starting five, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a role like Mark Pancratz had last year, depending on what they want to do with him.

I agree with both fan22 and God Shamgod. Al will likely get less than 10 minutes a game this year and Wimmer should expect about the same, perhaps a few more. Minutes on this team will be extremely tough to come by, with Ed, Joah, Adrian, Boo, J-Mac and hopefully Big D all logging heavy minutes.

I disagree about redshirting Hanson, I believe Bruce is smart enough to know that with the deep, athletic team he has, the Panthers could really take it to the rest of the Horizon League this year and get back to the NCAAs in Ed's final year. He is not going to take a chance on being left empty-handed at PG if an injury occurs or a player doesn't work out (ie. Ricardo Freeman). Also there are two types of redshirts, a standard redshirt and an injury redshirt that can be used if the player is injured early in a season (not sure exactly how many games played can make this void). Boo used an injury redshirt last year, that is why he played in an exhibition game and was able to redshirt. A standard redshirt is voided as soon as a player plays in a game regardles if it is an exhibition or regular season game.
