I know its before the season, and IM sure that it doesn't mean much. But ESPN has us in the 2005 predictions to win the Horizon league under Bracketology. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology

And wouldn't you much rather be in a league you have a prayer of winning rather than a 24-team super-conference in which you're assured of nothing more than a second-division finish?

Would you rather play in the Horizon League than the Big East? Operative word there is "play". Not everyone on team gets to play (or play as much as they would like). The 7th - 10th man on a good/decent Big East's team roster could be a solid contributor to a HL team. To many, being able to play (and win) is more important than sitting the bench in a "better" league. Would you rather "play" in the HL and have a good shot at going to the NCAA or possibly play in 2 years in the Big East and maybe have a chance to go to the NCAA?
