Sorry about that, Prairie View is a home game next year - not much better though. Any chance we can play that one at the Klotsche

Why in God's name is UWM at Prairie View again next year? To be fair, Im guessing there were fans across the country saying that about UWM 6-7 years ago

That's the beauty of time ... you can change things completely. Let's send Prairie View over to the Bradley Center. I'm sure MU would consider them a valuable opponent for the Blue & Gold championship game. They have nothing to lose by playing them. I wouldn't mind seeing UWM start a home and home series with a mid- to lower-level Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, ACC or Big East team. Northwestern is a logical geographical choice, maybe Minnesota or Penn State. Baylor would be another team looking for anything at this point. Clemson? Virginia Tech? Kansas State? St. John's? Georgetown? ... oh wait, Jesuit schools don't owe it do UWM to play them.

It would, at best, have to be a 2 for 1 deal. I doubt we could get any home and homes, unfortunately.

Don't we get Wisconsin at home this year? We did play there this year and last year we had it at our house. Also I wouldn't mind a rematch with NC State!

no WI this coming year at home. i don't think we get them for a couple years actually. they had to dramatically cut our home games with them to make the plan work. too bad but what can you do? at least they'll play us, unlike those f-ing golden eagles. btw, nice loss last night. they looked terrible.

Doesn't UWM have some ridiculous eight year contract with Wisconsin that gives UWM one home game over that span? It's something one sided like that.

Actually it's a ten year contract with two home games and the first one already came and went. Our next home game will be 2008. However you must keep in mind the deal was done planning on us playing home games at the KC instead of US Cellular.

I thougt UWM signed an extention this year for 10 years. I was under the impression that we got 2 home games and 8 away games. Does anybody have a link to an article on this subject?

My recollection of the issue was that Ryan wanted to end the deal playing with UWM altogether. Pressure on him I think forced the negotiation of the long term deal.

Why would we want to schedule a lower level team from a big conference? We need to step it up and schedule a big boy or two if they will accept. I don't want to see a St Johns, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, Penn State, Minnesota but rather a Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, Ucon, Pitt, etc.

We need to step it up and schedule a big boy or two if they will accept. That is the key phrase to remember. It would be great to schedule some of the schools that you mentioned, but they have agendas as well.......and the truth of the matter is that playing UWM is more than likely not on it. The better UWM gets, the harder it is going to be to get some of the "big boys" on the schedule. They do not want to/cannot afford to lose a game to a so called "mid-major". Further, more than likely it is going to be a buy game for them and why would they want to pay someone (a lot of money mind you) to come into their house and possibly beat them. Sure UWM will help out their RPI at the end of the day (assuming we do well during the conference season), but the teams you are talking about are not nearly as concerned about RPI as we are. The top schools you mentioned are going to go to the NCAA (pretty much no matter who they beat). On the other hand, a loss to UWM (or a like kind mid major) looks bad on their resume - whereas a win over say Prairie View looks indifferent. Just my thoughts.
