www.broncosports.com/basketball/mheadlines.aspLooks like they have a very thin team.......check out some of them. Hopefully that means DP, JT, and company can get some work done on the inside by being physical. Height Weight 7-0 215 6-7 200 6-6 205 6-7 211 6-9 190 6-4 185 6-7 177 6-5 190 6-1 172 6-4 184

I forgot that George Karl's kid (Coby) plays at Boise State. Looks like he started about half the games and averages just under 10 a game. I saw him play in high school a few times and wasn't that impressed.....but I am glad that things seems to be working out for him.

I found this link on the Boise State discussion board. www.arbiteronline.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/03/18/4059a6332cd9fGreat article on the BSU vs. UNLV game. There is also a slideshow from the game consisting of 28 photos. Their stadium looked packed, well up into the rafters (9,000+ attendance). Needless to say, it will be a very hostile environment. They have two mascots...male and female broncos. Victor E will need to bring his A game. GO MILWAUKEE! Later, UWMfreak

Thanks for the information Hackpanther! Why are they making the change to a different stadium? I assume then that the Idaho Center is their traditional home court, but due to schedule conflicts, they may have had to play at the old arena. Just a guess...someone please correct me! ;D
Thanks, Nick

they had to move the game to the Idaho Center due to conflicts with a Metallica concert at the Pavilion.
the Pavilion is BSU's home court on campus and seats 12,380. the Idaho Center is a separate arena just west of Boise where our CBA team plays, but it has a comparable capacity (i think it seats somewhere between 10-12,000 for basketball, depending on configuration). there's a good chance the game will sell out, too.
the IC happened to be open on saturday night, so they granted BSU the opportunity to play there. should be interesting; the IC is fairly new, and BSU's never played in that arena.

How come tickets are so much cheaper out there? I noticed that tickets for adults are $12. Tickets for the game against Rice were $20 and $25 I believe (plus the +/- 5 more dollars in "extra" ticketmaster charges).

i have no idea, but i'm not complaining. my best guess is that there's more competition and entertainment options in the treasure valley than ever before, requiring BSU to offer lower ticket prices in hopes of competing with the hockey, baseball, CBA games and concerts. broncobob or rafter at broncocountry can probably answer that better than i can.

my best guess is that there's more competition and entertainment options in the treasure valley than ever before, requiring BSU to offer lower ticket prices in hopes of competing with the hockey, baseball, CBA games and concerts. Heck, if that's the case UWM's tickets should be $5-10, considering all the entertainment options it goes up against. One thing that really hasn't been discussed when it comes to UWM attendance (or lack thereof at times) is ticket prices. I have seats in the 300 level ... and UWM is charging $20 a pop for these in the postseason ($15 in regular season). I understand that with success comes greater demand and more reason to increase the price of tickets. However in my opinion, UWM upped the ticket prices WAY too much, WAY too soon. You cannot expect casual fans to start gaining interest in a team by charging $20 per ticket for a decent seat. I understand they have rent to pay with the U.S. Cellular Arena, but if they lowered prices a bit maybe they would get more people in the Arena while still hitting their bottom line. That may be another reason why attendance numbers are slightly lower than projected.

i suppose i should've clarified. i meant # of entertainment options for the size of the market. the entire boise DMA is only 600,000, and there literally are a ton of things to do around here. when i moved from chicago, people wondered what there is to do in idaho. what i found is that there's seriously MORE to do throughout the treasure valley than in chicago, and it's cheaper and easier to get to. BUT, you're right about upping the ticket prices; if BSU starts winning consistently again and draws bigger crowds, i'm sure they'll take advantage and start raising prices accordingly. 'til then, 20 bucks will get you a good seat, a decent dog and a smuggled-in 5th. (dry campus )

(dry campus ) Ouch, how does that work? Is the arena the game on Sat. is being played in on campus? Can they serve beer there? What about the arena that you guys usually play in, is that on campus? Is there beer served there? Our arena is off campus so we can serve beer during games (it is expensive as all hell), except for during the Horizon League tournament. Games that are held on campus are dry.....per NCAA rules.

this saturday's game is off campus, so there MAY be beer available at the game; haven't heard for sure yet.
the Pavilion where we usually play is right on campus. no beer IN the arena, BUT these Boisians do know how to tailgate -- mostly at BSU's football games.
plus, the campus is right across the river (and park) from downtown, so there are plenty of great watering holes pre- and post-game to choose from.
it does this old former wisconsinite proud to see 'em tailgating right, too. ;D
however, the Idaho Center, where saturday's game will be, is west of town in Nampa (Boise's largest "suburb", though don't ever call it that). it's a relatively new complex -- i.e. no bars/restaurants/etc. surrounding it, yet.
BTW: for those of you actually thinking of coming out, there's a daily direct flight out of O'Hare that gets you to boise before noon. i take that flight often on business trips; may be an option, if you can get a cheap seat.

How many of your games this year were on TV? What are the chances of the game on Sat. being on in your market?

the chances are remote, though if the game sells out (and early indications are that it could!), it MAY be broadcast on BroncoVision at: www.broncovision.comif you have a high-speed connection, it's actually pretty good quality. the announcers are biased (naturally), but at least they're annoying. don't hold your breath, tho...
