............it doesn't get much better than this (exept for the snow today ) Any way the Panthers are a 4 point favorite and it is prediction time: UWM: 81 Rice: 76 and Boise State will also beat UNLV tonight, meaning that there is a chance that there could be a second NIT game at the Cell

Mejia has UWM winning 79-74, so far he's been right with his preditions for all 5 NIT games too

Yeah I just checked CBS Sportsline too and saw that ...
It's amazing how close he nails his picks sometimes ... he had UIC winning by 3 in the Horizon title game.
I say UWM by 4 ... 77-73.

Right from the top.... If we win against Rice, and UNLV wins, the game WILL be played in Milwaukee (UNLV can't get the facility), and it will be played Sunday evening. If Bosie State wins, and sells more tickets (which is unlikely) the game will be out in Idaho. If we win, be will get another home game on sunday night. If we play MU, it will be at the Bradley, and OUR STUDENTS WILL NOT BE IN!!!!

I hate to be the pessimist in the crowd, but I don't have a good feeling about this game. Same thing against UIC beforehand.... I don't know if it's just that we haven't been playing our best ball or what, but seems like the pressure has forced some of the guys to tighten up of late. Don't want to use the word choke, but certainly not at the peak of performance right now. I'd *like* to see: UWM 84 Rice 80 But expect to see: Rice 80 UWM 72 Sorry!

yes its true that we have not been played overly stellar as compared to earlier in the season but i thik that givien we really now have a second chance at keeping our season going i think that will be a card that Bruce is going to play to the fullest. From what i have read it seems Rice does have a solid team but i still like our chances tonite.
It seems that they have 2 guys who average over 16 pts regularly and it kinda seems that the rest of the team chips in where it can, but then again i haven't watched them play, just basing this on reading up on their season results.
either way, GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the comparisons I've heard have been to Detroit. If that's the case then we should match up pretty well seeing we took them out 3 times this year. Also, Rice doesn't look to be a very good road team. They've been blown out on the road by the same teams they've managed to beat at home. Bottom line is the Panthers have to play loose and confident. I hate to say it, but they did choke against UIC. They didn't get out-played, they killed themselves missing free throws and layups - that's the definition of choking. Let's hope they come out focused and together so they can get their first ever post season win! If a reasonable crowd shows up we may even get another home game (my guess is we'll get 4,000 and UWM wins by 5, 74-69.
GO PANTHERS!

PantherFan; I agree, I've heard the same comparisons to Detroit. Unfortunately, when you hear those comparisons, it's not that they're the same; but bigger, stronger, more physical than Detroit.
Detroit in my opinion is a very decent team; make them bigger, stronger, etc. and we are going to be challenged tonight.
Rice plays in a hugely strong conference, and they were 12-6 in WAC.
I'm hopeful that the planets align and we come out on top!
