JSonline recently stated that Jeter has had recruits on campus within the last week. Any idea who these players might be? The signing period ends Satutday, we have 4 scholarships to give.
Later, Nick

what are the logistics if all the scholarships aren't filled in the spring? This morning's paper made it sound like Coach Jeter may hold onto one of the scholarships until next fall. Could a player enroll in school in the fall without a scholarship, sign in the fall recruiting period and compete next season?

"Tyrone Young, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard from Vincennes University in Indiana will spend the weekend touring the Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus. Its one of four official visits Young intends to take before making a decision about his future"
Coach Sparks says: "Tyrone is cited by two national pre-season magazines as one of the best sophomore juco players. He can pull up and score or slash to the basket. He's definitely a major offensive threat..."
HS Honors: Missouri Player of the Year... averaged 25 1/2 ppg, 5 rebounds, 4 assists..led team to a 26-4 record and runner-up in Class 5A tournament
Anyone know any more about this guy?

Hey bball30, is there a link to a story with this info? AS for Young, I have never seen him play but according to hoopscoop (you need a membership to view this info), they did a preseason ranking of the top 60 JC players this year. This was the ranking where Waters was 29 and Douglas was 43. Well Young was ranked #13. I like our chances of landing this kid - sweet 16 team that lost their starting SG - sell him on that fact coach. Hopefully some mre good news next week.
As for holding onto a scholarship, I wonder if it has anything to do with kids that will be transfering after spring semester. I don't remember when Hawk signed his scholarship, but I know it was after the late signing period.

So as of now, the recruits for next year are officially: Kaylan Anderson. who will be a freshman, Kevin Messiah, who will be a .....? and Paige Paulsen for the 2006-2007 as a freshman?
if we sign Young, how many more scholarships would we have for this year left?

Depends on the situation with Walt Waters. From what I hear he is definetely leaving, so that would leave us with one more to give (if my math is correct).
