I can see Nixon transfering, I actually am shocked that he didn't do it after his freshman year. If Tucker was healthy this year, I wonder how much playing time he would have received. Next year, I can't see him getting much PT for the Badger with the depth they are going to have. Nixon would be a nice fit for the 4 spot for the 05-06 season. Just think about the possible starting lineup: PG: Fletcher ? SG: Wimmer SF: Tucker PF: Nixon C: Tigert I could live with that starting line-up.

Couple of points...
First, there's no way Nixon could start next year - he'd have to sit out a year if he transfers.
Second, even if Fletch signs with UWM (which looks unlikely right now) I think C Hill still starts. He earned the job back at the end of last year and unless someone comes in and sweeps BP off his feet, Chris will be the starter.
Given that Fletcher appears to be headed to Cinci, look for Allan Hanson to sign with UWM. He's as good a fit as Dupree is, with possibly a better outside shot. Fletch can create his shot a bit better, but Hanson is probably the better pure shooter.
Should be an interesting next couple of weeks in Panther Land.

Can someone tell me a little more about Allan Hanson? I haven't heard much about him, mostly just stuff about Fletcher.

I know Nixon can't start next year, that is why I was talking about the 05-06 season. Therefore, Fletcher would be a soph. and even though Hill would be a senior, I think Fletcher would probably start at that point. But I am getting ahead of myself, we first need find out if there is any chance of Nixon transfering and any chance of us signing Fletcher. I think it is all but a done deal with Hanson, he will sign with us. I personally don't know much about Hanson, but its a slow day at work , so I'll see what I can find out. Time to start a thread on him................

Just got off the phone with one of the Badger assistant coaches. Nixon isn't going anywhere. Said to be doing well in school, likes his situation and has no plans to leave....

Well, to play devils advocate, I doubt the UW coaches would say anything else. Are they supposed to tell you the guy hates it and is gone?

Beanocook,
You're absolutely right; publicly and if they thought their comments were "...on the record" somehow that I suspect they'd couch their comments more carefully. However coach had called me in an unrelated matter and "seemed" confident in his response re: Ray.
Sounded to me like they knew this was an issue he was tossing around, addressed it with him directly, and walked away confident that his concerns were addressed.
But, who knows? If he'd make UWM a better team I'd be happy to see it happen!
