last unbeaten team @ home for Tennessee's second win over a top 10 team. Well done Bruce congrats to you.
Well for Wisconsin losing today will not be quite as bad with Duke, Pitt, and Florida all losing so the focus will be on upset Saturday and the sting will not be as bad if these teams hadn't lost Wisconsin would be a much bigger story IMO.

Classic Bruce: tells the students before the game he is their coach and UT will kick Florida's a#@, loses the jacket during the game revealing the orange suspenders, and sweats like a pig through his shirt.
Loved the way UT entered the gym by coming down through the student section. Good stuff.

sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=2301387-really good article....it looks like bruce is having the time of his life down there in tennesse and the fans are really appreciating it....biggest crowd for a mens game in 15 years....good to see this guy is getting the success he deserves.....i used to love how he interacted with the fans and i think we fed off that.....he had all the student girlswanting his nuts....and all the student guys chanting his name.....truely a great person getting the opportunity he deserves....

Yeah, Just watched Sportscenter and saw BP. All I can say is, I thought he was intense in Milwaukee. What did he say? Something exactly like, "We are your basketball team, I am your basketball coach, and we're gonna kick Florida's Ass!!." Earlier in the week at practice, "Do you understand me? I'm not interested today in seeing how tired you are! You understand me!! I might be interested in seeing your-your head in a bucket puking, that might interest me. Don't show me that weakness Tennesee! Show me the swager, show me the toughness!" And then Tennessee beats unbeaten Florida. I have the whole sh*t on DVR if anyone wants to see it.
Nice suspenders Bruce.

no offense to Jeter, he is doing a great job, but i miss BP after reading stories like that. I'm super happy for the guy but i miss the excitment that he brought to the team. That is also where the crazy student section went, the enthusiasm isn't there and that's what they fed off. While a couple of the leaders are there most of them have grown up like you PhD, and now reside in their season seats, such as myself.

I agree that the student section fed off of Pearls fire and energy. Our team is not a super exciting team to watch and have not been playing great as of late either. It now takes a close game in the final 3 minutes for the crowd to get in to the game.
However, more success for the program will keep building the fan base and grow attendence numbers. Success will bring excitement to the arena. I have no doubt that the cell will be rocking for the conference tourny and the bracket buster game. The student section will be as big or bigger for the rest of the home games.

How about a 5 vs 12 matchup with Tennessee vs UWM in the first round?

I said the exact same thing last night for the first time ... a 5-12 or 6-11 matchup between Tennessee and UWM.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA committee members did that. They seem to create a few interesting matchups/potential matchups, then say "that's how the teams fell."
Coincidence that UWM and Pearl would've played Illinois in the second round in 2003 and that UWM played Illinois in the Sweet 16 last year? Maybe ... maybe not.

I was thinking about the same thing with Bruce and how I missed him and his enthusiasm on the bench...great win for UT...I think I want to go to Thompson Boling Arena and see a game!!!
o and 3,000 students get turned away to get in...That is huge...all I have to say is wow

I agree as well. I was almost jealous when I saw those highlights on TV. Part of me had the "that should be us" feeling.

Mejia from CBS Sportsline has us as a 12 vs Indiana and then possible 2nd round vs #4 Tennessee. www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/exclusives/projectingtheseeds
