Perhaps this is old news already but I just caught the vapors and this is f'd up IMO: czabe.com/daily/archives/2005/12/the_moment_has.htmlFollow up on the Saints. Did you see where Paul WhatdoIdo, Commissioner of the NFL decided to stroke each Saints player a nice $40,000 check for enduring the “unusual circumstances” created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina? Smooth move, Ex-lax. Here’s what Tags managed to do by this cheap stunt. 1. Offend every working class person in New Orleans who endured far worse hardship. 2. Slapped the face of every low-level Saints employee, who don’t even make 40K in a year. 3. Essentially wiped out the $2 million dollars the league “raised” by telling the Saints to play the Giants at the Meadowlands in Week 2. This guy is a douchebag of a Commissioner, and should be lucky that the NFL is such an unstoppable cash cow, that even he can’t do the league any lasting, serious damage. What will the note in the Christmas card with the bonus check say? “Sorry about the flood, here’s a little Christmas bonus so you can buy some new rims. Sincerely, The Commissioner.”
