the J/S is reporting that at a press conference set for 1pm today Barry Alvarez will leave UW football to focus solely on the AD position and his successor will be defensive coordinator Bret Bielema. While I have nothing against Bret it sucks that Barry's making this decision.

ESPN is now reporting this as well. they say barry is still coaching this year and next year he is going to focus solely on the AD position. sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2118728its nice how the mentiong the 'free shoe scandal' from back in the day. Barry was a great coach for the badgers and he will be an Great AD for a long time. I will always remember watching the badgers beat Keshawn Johnson and UCLA in the 1994 Rose Bowl.

I will always remember watching the badgers beat Keshawn Johnson and UCLA in the 1994 Rose Bowl. Keyshawn didn't play in the '94 rose bowl in part b/c he played for USC who went to the RB a few years later and destroyed Northwestern (thankfully). You might be thinking of Freddie Mitchell who was a WR for UCLA but that game was in '98. Future Bears hall of famer Cade McNown was also on that UCLA team.

i remember JJ being so hyped up for that game. maybe thats why i confused with someone slightly better. even though Keshawn is a piece of crap himself.

A highlight of Barry's that I remember is after Dayne broke the NCAA rushing record and the streaker ran onto the field, Barry was seen in his booth looking down and saying something like "What the hell...?" and then everyone in the booth laughing once they realized what was happening.

USC 41 NU 32 The Cats hit the upright on a field goal with about one minute left that would have set up an onside kick. Discounting last year, destroyed might best describe what NU has done to Barry's overrated boys over the past few years.

I was referring to Keyshawn's 12 catches for 216 yards (which was a RB record) and a TD.

At least you weren't referring to Keyshawn's 0.0 GPA during that "school year." What a joke.
The Purple in Pasadena in '06! Go Cats.

By the way, is it any surprise that I went to high school with "the streaker" in question?
