So the draft is finally here. Well, its tomorrow. But the fact remains the college draft is the holy grail of college basketball ball. ie everyone wants a contract, but has no guarantee they will get it.
Milwaukee as a whole does not have the power players of the east but it is possible that some Milwaukee players might get drafted.
Rumors have been said that Ed McCants had a work out with the Sacramento kings. but these are just rumors. Had they been true, I'm sure something would of turned up in our news papers.
additionally, ESPN believes that the kings will take his cousin Rashid McCants. If the kings get Rashid McCants I wouldn't see any reason for them to pick up another shooting guard. However, i can not see Rashid McCants being picked 23rd. I would bet he gets picked up earlier by the Toronto Raptors in the 7th pick.
Diener- who was named one of the top 10 pg's by Sports Illustrated the magazine has most likely dropped off into second round on the bubble. Diener who was criticized all year for being too small and fragile proved everyone right by injuring himself. Eventually not being able to finish out the rest of his season. Even if Travis does not make the draft i wouldn't bet he will still have a great career in basketball. Travis is smart with the ball and i could see him making a great career over seas, in the ABA, or coaching.
In the second round I'm not sure what to make of it. The NBA draft has an influx of underclassmen. This means there are alot of future first round picks. Except these players would be first round picks in the next couple years. So many of these underclass man will be bitting their nails as they await the second round. If NBA teams take a gamble on underclassman this year we could see the strongest second round ever.
A counter point to this is, NBA teams want to pick players with experience in the second round. Those players will be in the NBA some day. It just does not have to be today.

Due to character issues, there's no way Rashad gets picked in the top-10. More likely somewhere between 15-20. But, Marvin Williams, Ray Felton and Sean May all likely go first, in the top 15. Shows you how good that team was - six of its players may get drafted, and possibly five in the first round. That's insane.

I wonder what impact Porter's firing has on the draft? i still hope they go for Bogut but since Porter's no longer on a year by year basis for employment maybe they're more content w/ waiting for Williams to (hopefully) blossom.

Quote of the night: Sportscenter following the Draft Mike Tirico:
"The Raptors raised a lot of eyebrows by selecting Charlie Villanueva at #7"
The best part is that no one flinched. If you don't understand the (unintended?) humor involved in this quote, pm me and I'll let you know.
Another thought: did stuart scott really ask granger how being a jehovah's witness helped prepare him for the nba? Can he do that?

Charlotte now has Raymond Felton, Sean May and Emeka Okafor. That could be exciting to watch. Who does everyone think will be lottery busts? for me its villanueva and mccants. i don't think u can include Diogu and Korolev though b/c since they got picked by GS and LAC they're bound to be busts.

I think this question is best answered with a review of the Predraft Ben Goodhue top 10 Bogut, GGreen, Deron Williams, CPaul, Diogu, Marvin, Wright, Granger Bynum, Villanueva.
So, as I have Diogu rated number 5 overall, I obviously disagree with your assessment of Charlie and Diogu.
Diogu has the best post game of any player in the draft. He carried a bad team while being constantly triple-teamed. Golden State may have trouble finding him minutes with TMurph playing in front of him. Villanueva-while I agree that he should not have been drafted that early, the fact is that he is a matchup problem for most teams. For him to flop he's gonna need to quit the game because he's far too talented not to at least contribute, if not star. Again though, I hate who took him as he has a young player in front of him on the depth chart.
Steals of the draft-Granger, Garcia, Green, Warrick ROY without a doubt: CHRIS PAUL
I think if anyone, one of the worst drafters was Charlotte, who ironically everyone is touting as having the best draft. It is true that they had the highest picks but the selections should be based on the talent they acquire with where they picked them. To me, Felton has no business in the top 5. Sean May ahead of so many more talented players may have also been a reach, but I can accept this pick more than the felton one. The only saving grace of their draft was that the players are local and therefore are likely to stay and draw large crowds.
Other bad picks and busts: Channing Frye will be a lifetime backup center. At 8 thats a bust. In fact, I'll say Frye was a worse pick than Villanueva. But considering who was on the board at the poitn they drafted, Joey Graham has to be the worst pick (felton is close. Real close) Before I go into my reasoning, I have to make a bit of a concession. Considering that NO ONE wants to play in toronto and toronto will more than likely lose their franchise in the next two years, these picks A. Don't matter cause they're gone in 3 yrs or B. should be ready-to-contribute players. This would take Gerald Green out of their draft possibilities but not Granger. Either way, I don't think Joey Graham can really do much of anything other than win a relay race. Can we say workout warrior? he took 11 shots per game. Bust at 16. Can you imagine KG, Sprewell, Sam I am, and Mccants sitting in a room together? No way he doesn't go nuts in a hurry. Plus as Bilas put it, he can't defend. I don't like Hodge. There have to be many others but I can't put my finger on them yet.
2 questions that I have been unable to answer- Why did Granger slide? I know why Green slid (immature, refused workout competition) but Granger is baffling to me. Why was Winston not drafted?
Many more Bucks, Knicks, and Raptors are busts than clippers and warriors.
As a final thought, how can these commentators not think the Bucks will make the playoffs? If TJ is healthy, and they get a FA at forwards (both are very doable) its a sure thing. Bet the farm.

Ben you got to remember though that according to the commentators the Bucks haven't done anything good or worthy in the last ten years, i believe that was a Stephen A. Smith comment so take it for what its worth , because as i ma y be a fading NBA fan i seem to remember that it was only roughly 5 years ago (i think anyway) that the Bucks were in the EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS!!! and the only reason that the refs turned on them was that good old David Stern came to the BC and said that the building was too small for a finals series. now before i get the whole "No he wouldn't say that" or whatever else, yes he did say it, i heard it in an interview, or read it stated in a paper, not sure how the rest of the press masses missed that one but it was said, so go figure. at least the Bucks did the right thing and took the guy that will help them right away, all they have to do now is sign Redd, and since the circus that is Cleveland is now under way, which is the only other place i could have seen Redd going to other than Milwaukee since he is good friends with LeBron and that he would be going home, i think the Bucks stand a good shot at getting him back, but here's one for people say Redd does sign somewhere else, what the thinking on bringing good old boy Jesus Shuttlesworth AKA Ray- Ray back to the Bucks?? maybe.................
