OSU the next Big 10 powerhouse?

Thad Matta has definitely made an impact in the Big 10.

According to Rivals.com, initial reports out of Indianapolis have Greg Oden and Mike Conley about to verbal w/ Ohio St. For those unaware, Oden is perceived as the top prospect for 2006 and Conley the 7th best PG and 40th overall. This to go along with two 5-star prospects already committing for 2006 has OSU at 3 5-star prospects and 1 4-star prospect. The Indianapolis Star says both will make official decisions soon.

Oden and Conley both officially verbaled w/ OSU today giving the school 4 players in the top 40. pretty impressive.

I think this is good for OSU recuiting these blue chips. But, its always been my understanding that people went to OSU to play football. Did Michigan make a deal with the devil or something?
