Can a Xavier fan walk through the university commons or down the streets of Cincinnati with his or her head held high, bragging, "Oh, baby! What a season we've had! We unquestionably deserve that NIT berth! Can't wait for our season to continue!"
Hell, they might even finish with 17 or 18 wins!!!

Only 15 teams in the CBI. I assume that is all they could get. They had to take Chicago State 😂

Remember all the discussion one year ago at this time about Detroit Mercy possibly getting into a post season tournament so Antoine Davis could break Pistol Pete's scoring record? He was ahead of his time. It looks like they would have had no problem getting in this year.

Xavier was under .500. Absolutely ridiculous. What we have here is the basketball equivalent of the Poulan Weed-Eater Bowl.

Only 10 teams in the CIT, assuming they can fill the "TBA" spot. Previously they expressed a plan to have 16 teams. I think it is safe to say that at least 90% of D1 programs do not want to play in tournaments like the CBI and CIT. Each year it continues to trend toward 100%.

Kentucky beat North Carolina and Tennessee on a neutral court, beat Bama, won at Auburn, won at Florida, won at Mississippi State ... I think they're pretty good. They also got beat by UNC-Wilmington at home and LSU on the road. This Kentucky team, as they have been for a few years now, are inconsistent. On any given night they can play with and even beat the best teams in the nation. And on other nights, they play down to, and occasionally lose to teams they have no business losing to.

Zero reason to turn down a post season invite if you consider yourself a developmental program. If lundy and the staff don’t think playing a few extra games and being able to practice as a team for another week is worth it I would question their judgement.

Guys were back home a few days after Indy ended. It was clear they didn’t want to participate

I have no inside information, but I'd guess that our decision to end the season had everything to do with injuries and the portal.

They probably saw that wasting that time in Florida last year didn't do a damn thing for the success at the start of this year or any sort of "team building" better to work the portal and flesh out the recruiting class. Corny take to question their judgement to not go play some meaningless games at the CBI or CIT.

Kinda weird how all of you HATE Marquette…. No comment on UW though lmao I worked in Madison from 2000 until the pandemic. Madison Badger fans at least, are obnoxious and arrogant. Gave me a bad taste towards being a Bucky Bball fan. Been a MU fan off and on. The Crean years were tough, I couldn't stand Crean. I like Smart and will watch MU on occasion, but never really go out of my way to watch. I remember where I was as a kid watching on TV in 1977 when the WARRIORS won it all. My 7th grade English teacher was a MU grad, came to school looking pretty rough with a hangover. He told us he hadn't slept at all that night.
