My All-League First Team will be determined next week Tuesday night. It will be the starting five of the HLT champs.
It's all about the name on the front of the jersey not the back.

Wow. Big snub on EJ not even getting honorable mention on the sportsmanship award, let alone not winning it.

Some serious snubs though, could have seen KP on the all defensive team. He plays great D for his size. Gets in passing lanes and rebounds great for someone his size.
Faizon Fields could be considered our 2nd MVP. Stats don’t jump out for the full season, but if you look where he is at for the 2nd half , should have gotten 2nd or 3rd team consideration.
Pratt was our go to scorer when BJ was out. Could have seen him on the 3rd team. I imagine he will be somewhere on that list next year.
BJ first team all the way, but perhaps I’m biased.

You are bias that list is pretty fair, Gohlke as 6man of the year is the worst choice on there TBH. 36 percent shooter getting that award is wild. Hard to give as bad of a defensive team as we are any defensive awards. Fields 3rd team would have been fair but he didnt do much the first half of the year. Duffy woulda liked had a spot on that defensive team if he didnt get hurt imo.

If they're discounting his non-conference games and only counting conference, than how is BJ Freeman on the 2nd team when his conference-only rankings in ppg (4th), rpg (8th), apg (1st) etc so clearly put him in that best five?

Like CP said, it's all subjective. Our pursuit of far more objective accomplishments begins TONIGHT!

I’d argue his defense tipped him into the second team range. Also until the last few games he was no efficient at all on offense he’s the second leading turnover man in the league.

I don't really see any snubs to complain about from our team.
The fact Stone didn't make the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team, while being the leading scorer in the conference seemed a bit odd to me. I haven't really dug into his other stats or those of some of the guys that made it, so maybe it's justified. Or it may be a case of a team with such a horrible record that less consideration was given to anyone on that team.

It's wild that Stone was a small piece at GCU prior to going to UDM. Shows how good GCU has become. I'd love to have a guy like him playing G for us. That's the type of guy we should be portal hunting for.

That's the type of guy we should be portal hunting for. I attended several of the home games Stone played at GCU. It was during Bryce Drew's first two years as it's head coach. He simply got caught behind older, more experienced players. He showed a lot of potential when he did get on the court. GCU wasn't as good then as it is now. It would be interesting to see how much playing time he would have gotten this year had he stayed. My guess is he would have been an energy guy coming off the bench getting 10-15 minutes a game, but that is really hard to gauge.

Do the coaches vote on these? If so, I will be applying for every HC spot as these guys know 0 ball. Freeman not being on first team is absurd

Shows you don’t know ball too I guess. Reynolds has played 2 more games than freeman, while also averaging less points, rebounds, steals but thank the lord he’s averaging 0.1 more assists than Freeman! Freeman also shooting betting from 3 on 4 more attempts per game. This is just the stats. If you watch the games, Freeman is easily one of the top 3 most valuable players in this conference, and as I stated the fact he isn’t first team is crazy.

Ppgz don’t mean as much as you think. You also didn’t touch on freeman’s defense or turnovers but that’s okay. He’s second team y’all act like he got shafted off the entire all league team. Look at who made it all guys on teams that did better this year. We underperformed all year so whose gonna reward us finishing 6😂
