One of the biggest wins I can recall in quite sometime for sure; and I hope BJ will be back though I'm sure that will depend on NIL and how he feels his draft stock will be; again very glad he came back for this year and to be a nice guy as well; again you can tell he feels the love the fans have for him and he's a big part of bringing Panther basketball as close as it got to what it was in the Pearl/Jeter days.
Overall they picked a right time to turn it up and pull away from a UWGB team that seemed like they couldn't miss a three...

But...but how many defensive lapses did he have? Unfortunately, they don't track those as statistics But he certainly had some lazy moments that I saw. But...but how many defensive lapses did he have? I mean you can joke all you want but he had plenty last night again. I swear I should start clipping them so you guys can see what I see watching the game. Hes hidden away on usually the other teams worst offensive player or sitting down in the zone. Its no wonder we turned it around on defense when we switched to the zone last night he helps us hide guys on defense. The knock isnt that he isnt able to defend, but a guy his size and length should atleast be a decent positional defender but he doesnt even but his arms up alot of times on defense. They hunted him the first half and better teams have done that all year long. The game is played on two sides of the court and at times BJ is a elite offensive player for sure. Needs to cut the lazy turnovers and the lazy defense and hes likely the clear best player in the league. At one point in the second half he tossed it around the back loosely for 0 reason. For a guy who likely has pro ambitions that end of the court is where guys either make the pro level or not. At that level you will sit if you don't defend. No better time then now to start taking some pride on that end of the court. I've never argued that BJ doesn't have defensive lapses, a complete lack of effort at times on the defensive side or make the occasional boneheaded ballhandling error. He most certainly does, as you allude. He did show a lot of energy when pressing BTW, so he's certainly capable of putting in the effort - at least in spurts. My argument has always been that what he brings on the offensive side of the ball far exceeds those moments or lapses, and is overall worth putting up with because of what he brings on the offensive side. GB had two guys shoot lights out from three that really impacted us in the first half. I'm not sure how many of those open shots/makes from GB were directly attributable to BJ. I'm not going to put that solely on BJ because as a team, we've shown a propensity to not play perimeter defense - even in games where BJ has been out. In terms of playing professionally, I'm not sure that BJ would get a look for the G League given what we've seen so far. I'm guessing that even without improvement, he'd be able to make a living overseas playing professionally, once his college career is over. IF B.J. was to come back (which I'm not expecting), he would be way up toward the top on the all-time points list. Where would he go? Major P5 programs are gonna see what I have been seeing all year and have questions. Could he handle being pulled when he doesn't defend? Power 5 conference teams will hunt him on defense if he defends like he did this year. Teams do it in the Horizon could you imagine what would happen in the SEC Big East or Big10? Could he transfer up sure, but he shouldn't. BJ's defensive issues didn't start this year. They were there in plain view last year as well and he was offered a lot of money to move to a more prominent conference school this past summer. (sure would be easier to say P5) They're not going to stop looking at him this year just because those issues still exist. Many of his offensive statistics have gotten better this year. He also likely wouldn't be asked to be as big of a contributor at one of those schools, so he could ratchet it down a bit on the offensive side and put in more time on the defensive side. Whether he will/would or not, I don't know. But I fully expect him to be targeted for a move again this off season. Given the frustrations of the year, I'd expect it to be an easier decision for him - unless we make a big run at the tourney.

The difference is he’s a one year rental now. So the idea that he’s gonna fix up his lapses might have gone away. Will he get looks sure. But I think we are seeing a correction on these huge numbers for nil for middling players seeing that it’s gone wrong for some schools. Overseas maybe but most solid overseas leagues play a much more team oriented game and the talent pool overseas is much deeper today then it was 20 years ago. Will play somewhere if he wants but this is the right level for BJ. If it wasn’t he would have been nabbed out of juco to a bigger program.his stats are almost the same this year as last year

But he's averaging over 2 PPG more, (10% improvement over last year) 1.5 more RPG, (30% improvement) almost an additional 1.5 APG, (50% improvement) .25 more steals per game (33% improvement) and shot .036 better on 3's this year. He has more total assists and steals this year in 23 games, than he had in 32 last year. On the negative side he's a bit over .5 TO more per game (17% more than last year) this year. I'll agree to disagree with you that these stats are almost the same as last year.
