I just want to underscore again what a uniquely special place the Arena is. It has an underpromoted history and has pretty much sustained us as a program for almost all of the last 21 years. Fans LOVE going downtown for a complete experience and it's a terrific way to bind us all together before and after games. I really can't say enough good things about it.

Will there be a bus to the Green Bay game?

Furthermore, isn't it one of the university's primary initiatives (if not the foremost one) to touch the city and reach down to people and places that it hasn't previously? Isn't that the principal reason for the expansion to North Avenue?! Isn't that what the Arena naming rights was ultimately all about?! And do we really need an "intimate environment" to beat Detroit?!

Great team win! If they play like this the next four games I like our chances. Rewatching the game at home the telecast stated Freeman is 3rd in scoring and 1st in assists in the Horizon League.. will be interesting to see if he gets POY consideration giving the time he missed. Given the time that he missed at the END of the league season, how is Noah Reynolds' POY candidacy impacted? This is going to be an absolutely fascinating all-conference team. Calvin, Enaruna, Freeman, Reynolds and Warrick? Honestly, your guess is at least as good as mine. BJ would be 2nd in the conference in scoring; tied for 3rd or 4th in assists; (depending on how they handle rounding) tied for 7th in rebounds and in the top 25 in steals, blocks and field goal percentage. He'd also be 4th in the league in free throw percentage, 2nd in 3-point percentage and 4th in 3's made per game. Horizon League official stats don't show BJ on the leaderboard for any of those categories, so he's not played enough games to qualify. That will likely impact any POY candidacy he may have. Having said that, he should be a lock for at least second team all-conference, if not first. A very underrated aspect of Bruce Pearl was his cheerleading abilities on campus to drill up interest, make people aware of games, and overall get the students fired up. Not only did he recruit and coach circles around a lot of teams in the Horizon, but he did a lot for program awareness on campus. Say what you want about him, but he's a charismatic dude. We haven't had a coach do that to nearly the same extent since. But all of you cats that made it to the game sounded great on the broadcast. And for those of you who had their first arena experience with a crowd this size, get another thousand or two for a tense game in there and you'll never sing the praises of the K again. I'll say this: Green Bay is now a solid squad, and having a renewed rivalry with them while both teams are good can only do good things for interest in the program and attendance.

Kenpom has Townsend, Enaruna, Reynolds, Burns and Warrick as his all 1st team. I assume Townsend is his POY as he has him 1st on the list.
I would think BJ would fall in the second group with Calvin, Holden, Ziggy Reid and one other player that could be 1 of many. I think Fields can make a case for 2nd team based on his rebounding %, block % and his in conference ORTG.

Thanks for doing the research. Should have known ESPN commentators don’t have the facts straight when talking about the Horizon League.
