The WIAC will be well represented in the quarterfinal round. Both WIAC teams who got bids, La Crosse and Whitewater, have won their games in the first two rounds. La Crosse won the WIAC bid and Whitewater won an at large bid.
After beating Minnesota, Morris by a score of 62-7 and Aurora University by 56-35, La Crosse plays the highest-scoring team in the tournament, North Central, who scored 65 and 71 points in rounds one and two.
Whitewater beat Bethel 42-12 and Wheaton 49-42 (coming from 14 points down in the second half) in the first two rounds and will face an equally high-scoring Wartburg team in the quarterfinal.
Longtime D3 power Mount Union was defeated in the second round.

Whiteawater raced up a 21-3 lead then game up 3 straight tds, only to retake the lead with 8 minutes left . unfortunately they were not able to stop Wartburg on 4th down down the stretch and wartburg advances 31-28. Lacrosse fell behind 35-14 at half and while they scored 28 more points in the second half, the hole was too deep and they lose 55-42
