The WAC will be using special analytics using NET ratings that are specially modified by Ken Pomeroy to determine conference standings this year: www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/wac-altering-basketball-tournament-formats-by-introducing-bold-new-seeding-concept-based-on-advanced-analytics/Clearly, this puts additional value on non-conference games and devalues conference games. I am a season ticket holder for GCU games, and have been critical of too many bunny buy games on the home schedule. My hope is this will result in one or two more non-conference games against better competition and less bunny buy games. My concern is it could lead to more home games against non-D1 competition assuming they will not factor into the analytics. According to the article, this may be something other conferences (Horizon League???) will be keeping and eye on to consider in future seasons.

As currently constituted perhaps we should simply hope that the Horizon League cedes to exist.
