Jeremy Majors ran a 48.09, a new school record, in the 400m Dash at the Wisconsin Twilight last weekend. An unattached who won the race finished in 46 (wow). Hopefully Majors will get another chance to crack into the 47s. 48 is good, but many schools have a mid to low 47 for their top time.
The track program improved in the last three years. When I ran with UWM 7 years ago, we would have been swept by several state D3 schools. Today I think they could compete in individual events, but would still loose handedly in team scoring. We simply cannot field as many runners as UWO or UWLC because of scholarship limitations, and D3 still attracts great talent.
