i always wonder who these sources are. Not all that long ago, "sources" were saying that Bryce Drew had already turned down Vanderbilt. i don't know a lot about these kinds of job searches, but i know that it is not unusual for a university to employ a consultant to help identify candidates to fill the vacancy. i also know, from the experience of a friend on Facebook, that some of these search firms don't do all that great of a job. My friend has posted on FB a few times that, although he has clearly and repeatedly expressed to these search firms his utter lack of interest in moving to a new job, they continue to tell him about vacancies at other companies. i hope that the search companies who get paid the kind of money it takes to search for a head basketball coaching job at a D1 college or university operate on a more professional basis.
