UWM lost to #6 Washington today (with wins over Wisconsin and UWM this weekend, my guess is they'll be ranked 3rd or 4th tomorrow). Creighton also beat both UWM and Wisconsin, so they'll most likely be ranked tomorrow as well. This non-conf schedule is really tough. On Wednesday UWM men's soccer hosts marquette for the Milwaukee Cup at 7 pm. uwmpanthers.cstv.com/sports/m-soccer/sched/wiml-m-soccer-sched.htmlWhat better way to bounce back from a tough weekend than trouncing Louis Bennett and the golden eagles at Engelmann? 7 pm Wednesday.

I plan on going to the game. It's been awhile since I've been to Engleman. What are the ticket prices? Where is a good place to park.
Is there some place where fans from the board will meet up?

5 bucks for adults, 3 bucks for seniors/kids, free for uwm students with ID. Since it's a night game you can park in any of the 1 hour parking just south of kenwood (kenwood/maryland is just south of the soccer field).
If you want to stand, the best place to be is the south end of the field by the fence. That's where the superfans always hare. Otherwise just find a bleacher seat somewhere. It's gonna be a hostile environment IMO.

Attendance is expected to be 2500-3000 according to Jon Coleman. There's an article about the game in the JS.

TUESDAY, Sept. 12, 2006, 10:48 a.m. By Charles F. Gardner Big crowd expected for UWM-MU soccer This soccer match has plenty going for it - rivalry, history and the first official game to be played under the lights at Engelmann Field. It happens at 7 p.m. Wednesday when the UW-Milwaukee men's team hosts rival Marquette. A large crowd is expected as former UWM coach Louis Bennett makes his return to Engelmann Field, although he will be in an unfamiliar position on the visitors' bench. Bennett left UWM after 10 seasons and five consecutive NCAA tournament appearances to accept the challenge of rebuilding Marquette's soccer program. The Golden Eagles are 1-4-1 thus far and carry a five-game winless streak entering the match on Wednesday. UWM is 2-4 following its 2-1 overtime loss to No. 6 Washington on Sunday in a tournament in Madison. "It's a Cup game for us, and we obviously want to be hoisting that trophy at the end of the game," said Panthers coach Jon Coleman, who served as a longtime assistant to Bennett before being elevated to the head coaching position. "It's history in the making with the first game under the lights at Engelmann. "I'm really just glad I have a seat. This is definitely a game you don't want to be rolling up late to." Tickets are available until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Pavilion on the UWM campus, and prices are $5 for adults and $3 for seniors. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and a ceremony featuring UWM Chancellor Carlos Santiago and athletic director Bud Haidet will begin at 6:45. The ceremony will honor the donors who provided the four-pole lighting system, which was installed by Musco Lighting Co. during the past off-season. "We're looking at breaking an attendance record," Coleman said. "We think we can have somewhere between 2,500 to 3,000." The UWM single-game attendance mark is 2,250, established on Sept. 3, 1990 for a game against Evansville. UWM leads the all-time series with Marquette, 24-7-2, and has won the last two meetings. The Panthers routed the Golden Eagles, 4-0, at Valley Fields in the Milwaukee Cup clash last season. Marquette had a three-game winning streak in the series, from 1998 through 2000, and also won in 2003. "If I thought about it emotionally, it's like fighting your brother," Bennett said. "You don't necessarily like to do it, but you do it. It's like fighting a family member. "I can separate the emotional from the professional. Having recruited every one of those players, having taken every one of those players, except for three, to the NCAA, it's all those things. It's an emotional thing I cannot address while I prepare. I'm the Marquette coach, and we have to prepare to win the game." www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=2&date=9/12/2006&id=11227

a fence surrounds the field. Fans usually sit on the bleachers on the north end of the field.
Rowdy fans stand on the south, southeast, east parts of the fence. I usually stand on the south end of the field along the fence.
Get there early tomorrow... this is the first time in the schools history that a mens soccer game sold advance tickets (not including the NCAA games and HL tourney games of course).

Justin and I are planning on running the student section on those east bleachers.
Also, I'm making chant sheets for tomorrow night's game. Shoot me ANY AND ALL ideas on facebook, myspace, here, whatever, so we can add them.
Here is what we have so far:
Goals: "Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee na na Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee... Mil-waukee na na hell yeah" (repeat)
Chants: "We'll be running 'round Milwaukee with the cup, PISSED UP We'll be running 'round Milwaukee with the cup, PISSED UP We'll be running 'round Milwaukee, we'll be running 'round Milwaukee We'll be running 'round Milwaukee with the cup, PISSED UP!"
"Who ate all the pies, who ate all the pies, YOU FAT BASTARD YOU FAT BASTARD You ate all the pies"
"Roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun. Roll out the barrel, we've got the blues on the run, GOLD SUCK YEAH! Zing boom tarrarel, sing out a song of good cheer, now's the time to roll the barrel, for the GANGS ALL HERE!" (repeat)
"The only team in Mil-wau-kee, the only team in Mil-wau-kee, the only team in Mil-wau-kee, the ONLY team in Mil-wau-kee"
"Louie, Louie, OH yeah, you can go. But Marquette's a joke" I say, Louie, Louie, Oh yeah, you can go, but Marquette's a joke."
That's what Justin(jdbrew) sent to me. We're trying to come up with more and add them before tomorrow night's game. How many do you guys think I should make?
While Marquette's goalie is on the west side, we will have a small contingent stick with him and make his life a living hell.
Any more ideas are encouraged and welcome. My last class tomorrow ends at noon, so I'm spending all day afterwards planning this thing out. Well, I'll probably end up studying a lot AFTER I plan it all out.

*steps up to podium, speaking through gorilla mask* If I could be serious here for a moment...
I'd like to mention that there are some of us that will not be fortunate enough to enjoy this match. Some people will be sacrificing their time to help others enjoy theirs. I'm talking of course about the Event Staff. These poor souls will be doing their best to ensure that you all can enjoy yourselves and feel safe in the knowledge that there are no roaming gangs of homeless people or any Marquette fans that didn't pay double the normal ticket price. I'd like you all to just keep that in mind while you harass Marquette to the point of physical pain, loss of voice, and possibly coughing up a kidney.
A couple chants about how Marquette's event staff sucks compared to ours wouldn't hurt either.
Thank you. *steps down from podium*
