With all the excitement I didn't want these two performances to go without recognition.
Malcom Moore: 15 minutes, 7 pts, 8 Rebs (5 OFF), 1 Asst/1 TO, 1-1 3pt, 2-2 FT. Cody Wichmann: 8 minutes, hit his only FG attempt (a 3-ball), 0 TO, was not credited with a block but I swear I saw him get one.

Amazing game and atmosphere last night at the Nutter Center...definitely the best game I have been to as a student (obviously). I still can't get myself to realize that we actually did it and are going to the dance, once I see our name introduced on Selection Sunday then I will know. The whole tourney I was very impressed by the calmness of the team and Coach Jeter during the big points. Every time DET, VALPO, UWGB or WSU made a run and the fans were up and loud, we would just come down and run our sets and stop the momentum. Very impressive, so glad I finally got to see a tourney team in my senior year after 6 long years! Let's go dancing, Panthers!

Problem was everyone was jacked up after Wichmann hit that three, the team didn't get back and got burned for a lay-up. Moore has been huge in the HL Tournament. It's like a light went on!

Moore has been huge this whole year. By far the most unsung hero on this team. Jeter even said it on the radio today. The kid plays more physical and tough than just about any college player i have seen. It will really hurt losing that next year.

Anyone have a link to the post-game remarks? The HLN has it up but says it's blocked.

Wow some crazy stats from this tournament run.
Free Throw Shooting: Detroit: 24-29 Valparaiso: 28-33 Green Bay: 14-18 Wright State: 16-18 Total: 82-98
That's good for 83.7% FT shooting. I'll take that any day.
We had a double digit lead in all four games and led for almost four full games.
It just gets more and more impressive.

You're no better, GoPanther33. You refer to us as Illinois-Chicago instead of UIC in your footnote. BTW, congrats to you guys and we'll take an "assist". Losing to our hideous team was just the kick in the ass you guys needed. I don't know, I say UIC. It's just easier than saying the entire official name of the school. Guess I didn't know UIC was the official preferred name for athletics. They definitely prefer UIC for athletics, even on 1st reference, just like we prefer Milwaukee. So yes, GoPanther33 may want to update his sig. Now for the happiest RPI update I've ever had the pleasure of making. Sorry for taking over 24 hrs to post, but I'm still recovering from that road trip.... With the ROAD WIN, Milwaukee's RPI/SOS moved from 142/215 to 132/212 (11-9, 20-13 vs D-I). Automatic bid clinched! And after further review (as many on this board have astutely stated), Milwaukee is very much in line for a 15 seed, and even has an outside but realistic chance at earning a 14 seed! With the HOME LOSS, Wright State's RPI/SOS moved from 165/255 to 173/248 (12-7, 18-14 vs D-I).

Well the greater point I was trying to highlight was the 8 minutes of mistake free play. The 0 turnovers and 1 blocked shot in a League Championship game, from a Freshman. Is he going to be our starting SG next year? Look at the jump Austin made between his year 1 and 2. He looks very similar to Austin. Unless they want to go with defense at the 2 spot next year, I think he has a good chance. If not, he should probably get a lot of minutes off the bench at the 2 and 3 spots.

To me, aside from Florida (who are unequivocally the best team in the nation) there will be absolutely no difference between playing a 1 or a 2 seed in this tournament. There's such a flattening of power between Wichita State and, say, Wisconsin that it really won't matter whether we get a 15 or not. All of those teams are capable of losing and all of them are capable of going to the Final Four.
