Does anyone know if this is even financially possible?
Assuming it is, it would be hard for Jeter to try and recruit guys knowing he could be in a lame duck season. Since we're not a destination program, guys aren't going to sign with us just because we're Milwaukee. Sure, Jeter could easily lie and say he's staying but that's not going to help if he leaves in '17 and teams will be negatively recruiting against him the whole time. Our facilities suck enough now and we don't need to help recruit against us anymore than others already can.

We're back on this kick again?
The dead body of this season is still warm.
As for his contract, if you wanted to buy it out you'd owe the balance through June 1st, 2017. So roughly 500k.

Hence my question...

For his salary $495,441 I would like to see a little more than 4 post season appearances(maybe 5) in 11 years with only two of those being NCAA's. I for one would be happy with moving on.

How do you recruit with only one year remaining?

How do you recruit with only one year remaining? I think you have to either extend his contract(Please no), or replace him. I'm sure it didn't hurt Wojo's recruiting effort that he got that extension, smart move by MU.

I can't believe I'm going to entertain this, but it hasn't occurred to a bunch of people - on this board and off - so I'm gonna say it anyways.
Extend him to 2022. Even if your intention is to fire him next year. The extension adds a buyout clause, say 100k, that can't go into effect until Selection Sunday 2017.
This way he gets another 100k and has a much easier time recruiting, and you get better recruits coming in and no lame duck coach.
How this hasn't occurred to anyone is beyond me.

I share the concerns of mupanther about recruiting with a lame-duck coach. However, I seriously question the capacity of our chancellor and athletic director to A) see the problem with it or to B) care one way or another.
For as much as Mone like to tweet pictures of himself with Rob, all it would take is a directive from him to the Athletic Director to offer a contract extension. I believe that is what should happen, as I have no confidence in the athletic director to make a competent hire of a head men's basketball coach, and I believe Rob has earned it with his loyalty to this institution.

I don't think Rob has earned anything. And all extending his contract would mean is a few more years of mediocrity.

45, Rob Jeter could win a national championship, and people such as yourself would still b*tch about him constantly.
Also, just what kind of coach do you expect to attract with what will almost certainly be a D-III level salary? You wouldn't get anyone better than Rob at what he makes now (which is middling, even for the Horizon League), much less what Penny-pinching Amanda would offer someone new. I'm sure you'll point to Darner up north, but if he does this well or better with his own recruits, he'll be out of Green Bay on the first paycheck that comes around that dwarfs the peanuts he's working for.

So if you're a fan of a mid-major program, you should root for mediocrity? Because no matter what you're paying your coach, some major program will pay more if your coach is good enough. I'd rather take a shot of getting a few years of Bo Ryan, Bruce Pearl, Andy Enfield, Shaka Smart, etc., than extended mediocrity with Jimmy Collins, Tod Kowalczyk/Brian Wardle, etc.

I'll take this a step further ...
At $230,000 a year, a pittance by today's standards, Linc Darner is as good as gone if Green Bay can finish this off tonight.
What a marvelous job he's done this season with a team that I predicted would win 10-12 games. Jordan Fouse's development as a senior reminds me of what we witnessed from Wesley Matthews under Buzz Williams.
Go, Phoenix!

I think the conservatives among us who want Rob Jeter gone might be busting a blood vessel in their collective temple, since it would cost roughly 500k to buy out Rob right now and that ain't happening when the entire university is scrimping and saving every little penny and cutting any dollar they can to run a minimal operation.
I suppose they could fire Rob, give him the full contract, and go hire someone else. Who else on campus do you want to fire to pay someone to go away? Which high school coach do you want to pay to replace him?
You guys who don't like Rob have lived with him for 11 years. Surely you can stomach one more.
