All I wanted for Christmas last year was Mike Rice from Robert Morris (now with Rutgers). Jason Capel from App St. would probably be my realistic wish this year, although Mike Leaf looks like a very attractive candidate. Dunlap looks like he would be a more than capable coach, but this likely wouldn't be a permanent stop for him.
Everyone always focuses on the explicit costs of firing Rob, but nobody ever talks about the implicit costs of having the program tank into mediocrity. How the fans that aren't coming have a legitimate excuse, as it has generally been bad and boring basketball.
I like Mark Pancratz as the future future coach of Milwaukee basketball. Guy was a leader even though he generally wasn't on the court.

Pancratz has teacher/coach written all over him (and it's in his genes). I have no doubts he'll be successful.
Speaking of Tennessee I saw about 20 seconds of a game earlier this year. I could have sworn I saw Chris Hill in a suit right behind the Tennessee bench in a coachlike/manager position. I can't find anything online that would confirm that. Anyone know if Hill is working for Bruce?

New Coach: Chris Hill, who started at point guard for Bruce Pearl's Sweet 16 Wisconsin-Milwaukee team, has joined the UT staff as a graduate assistant. "We hated it when we lost Coach Pearl to Tennessee, but we understood,'' said Hill, who played four years overseas in Romania, Lithuania and the Ukraine after his playing career at Milwaukee. "I'm glad to have this opportunity here now.'' Hill worked UT's Elite summer camp in 2009 and had stayed in touch with former Milwaukee teammate and current assistant to head coach Mark Pancratz. "Mark and I go way back,'' Hill said. "We played ball together since AAU in sixth grade.'' www.govolsxtra.com/news/2010/aug/30/foot-pain-wont-stop-hall-from-being-a-factor/

+1 Dunlap was the guy I wanted hired 6 years ago. And so did Bud, but Dunlap wanted $500K per year AND a house.

I would say that there's a race between Danny Weisse, Justin Lettenberger, Justin Einerson, Chris Hill and Mark Pancratz to see who I hire as my first b-ball coach after I become AD in 2025.
