Let's do it.
The biggest problem with our student section was the fact that we largely didn't exist. Following the embarrassment of the Parkside exhibition loss, very few students showed up for the rest of the year. The UWGB game was the only respectable showing by students, and most likely because it was on TV. However, I also believe it was helped by the intense marketing done by Dutch, easye and the other Panthers that work in the athletic department. The t-shirts and banners that were all over campus really got students on the bus to the game.
So, what I want to do now is to get the students going. To every game. This year's team, according to jdbrew, really gets it. They're a closer knit team and they are light years ahead of where they were at this time last year. Of course, this is the second week, but it's an advancement all the same. Hopefully the team will be better this year. I'm sure no one thinks they'll be any worse. That should translate into students coming to more games.
But I wanna know what we can do.
SBGC is looking into t-shirts. That'll do something, but not enough. We need us d-board guys getting together and talking to students. Freshmen and sophomores need to be roped in. So, if you know any, talk to them about the team. Get them psyched up any way you can.
What things can we do as a group to boost excitement for the season?

Give free tickets to students and free bus rides to and from the game? GREAT idea!!! Let's try it!
