Spectacular Saturday is just around the corner, not even 3 weeks away. UWM has always had many people come to this event, but this year, as many of you know, it is uber-important that we get AS MANY AS POSSIBLE in the stands that night.
Rumor has it that there will be two possible recruits in the stands making visits to Milwaukee on Spectacular Saturday. The buzz is that either one or both of them would be the biggest recruits in UWM basketball history. A potential that could make them better than Joah Tucker, Ed McCants, Craig Greene, Chad Angeli, Adrian Tigert, Dylan Page, Nate Mielke, or, of course, Clay Tucker. Recruits like these are the kind that take programs to new heights. Coach Jeter and the rest of the program are urging everyone to get as many students, alumni, fans, and friends to Spectacular Saturday as possible.
Of course, any one of us would love to bring 30 friends a piece. However, these are just pipe dreams unless we have a strategic plan of attack.
Brainstorm, people. Any and all ideas are welcome. What can we do to get the butts in the seats? What sorts of campaigning will be required to impress these fine recruits?

lol.
Seriously though, it's a really big deal to the coaching staff to have that place packed for recruiting purposes. Please... spread the word, grab every extra body you can. I brought my girlfriend (from Marquette) and her sister (from DePaul) last year. These freshman have a lot of school spirit already... you can tell by the immense amount of them who went nuts at that MU-UWM soccer game... hopefully they'll carry that into basketball as well.

one thing that needs to happen is to have the athletic dept. stuff every dorm mailbox w/ flyers during that week to remind everyone of that Saturday. i'm sure someone who was recently hired to work part-time for the team could handle this.

Are there many Alumni and season ticket holders in attendence at these?
Sending out tickets to season ticket holders would get them in the door. Even though its free, it's a personal invitation, and they could sit in their own seat.

Put together, mwu. Put together.
I talked to Bid today, and he told me that Deonte Roberts and Anthony Hill will both be in attendance. Of course, those guys are locked up.
The two recruits coming are scheduled to be here. So, unless something changes, this is confirmed.

Panther Madness, Spectacular Saturday, whatever it is will be held October 14th(Saturday, obviously) at the U.S. Cellular Arena at 6:00 P.M. Buses will begin leaving the campus from the Union and Sandburg precisely at 4 P.M. Those who go early will be treated to UWM's super hot women's volleyball team kick the sh*t out of Butler.
