Zak Showalter decides to walk on at Wisconsin. www.jsonline.com/sports/preps/127911863.htmlThe kid obviously is following his heart, and you can't fault anyone for doing that, but he is walking away from some great opportunities to do it. I hope he's made the right choice.

Not a great couple of days for the program's 2012 recruiting targets.

I saw Dayton, Missouri State, Milwaukee & Green Bay on Zak's list. Those are some nice schools he is passing on to walk-on at Wisconsin.

They are nice schools, but what absolutely floored me was that he was turning down Rice. I know it's a struggling program, but the school is phenomenal. And that's a scholarship worth over $60,000 a year. The kid obviously just loved the Wisconsin program and couldn't see himself anywhere else. You have to respect that. And just like Rob, Bo has shown he will play walk-ons, so it's a legitimate opportunity. I hope it works out well for him.

The early signing period starts in November and it usually seems like in August or September we land a few kids that will sign in November.

I have spoken with a few of the guys on staff and it sounds as if the Panthers are looking at two kids from NYC both are in junior college and both have ties to program. The only connection I can make is that the former academic guy dan was from NYC and has ties in the city. I know one of the kids is at Southeastern were Paris played and I am not sure about the other kid.

It's guards Latroi Wright and Jamal Williams and forward Elhadji Seck.

Latroi Wright is at Olney Central. Correct me if I am wrong but that is the school that dan is coaching at and Jamal is a kid from NYC so those are the two kids that I have heard about. Does anyone have any more info on the kids other then our ties to them as far as who else is looking at them or highlights. Jimmy?

I just heard that two of our recruits will be in town this week. I think that the two that will be on campus are Jordan Aaron from Southeastern and Latroy Wight from Olney central.

The early signing period starts today and runs through next Wednesday. I would assume Arians will be signing this week. What are the odds that we land another recruit and sign them this week?
