Valpo will be in the CBI. They play at Washington at 8:00 (CDT) on Wednesday.
Washington was 16-16, 7-11 in the PAC Ten.
Interestingly enough I was reading on the net that some teams not in the NCAA or NIT, turned down bids from the CBI including some who weren't invited to the NCCA or the Big Dance.
There's speculation that the NCAA which owns the NIT wasn't happy with the idea of another tourney and put some pressure on.

To host a game, a team had to cut a $60,000 check. This tourney is a farce ... don't need to look further than a 13-18 Cincinnati team getting in.
They didn't have the teams decided until well after midnight last night because teams kept on turning it down.

I didn't know about the check part. Where did you see that?

$60,000 for the "honor" of hosting a game in the CBI?
That's insane.
Edit...

To host a game ... not just to play. I don't think Valpo had to front any costs ... besides travel expeditures.

For the NIT, don't you have to have guaranteed money as well? I know if Women's Basketball had been chosen for the NIT they were not going to ask to host because of the guaranteed money they would have to produce.

The CBI is very expensive to everyone involved. Unless they can generate a real buzz in the form of media coverage or a major sponor(highly unlikely) I would expect that it is gone after next year.

I'd still like to be playing in the CBI.
Valpo is still alive, at Houston tonight.
