Assistant Basketball Coach Trey Schwab Leaving Marquette
POSTED: 4:00 pm CDT August 17, 2005 (milwaukeechannel.com)
MILWAUKEE -- Marquette basketball special assistant Trey Schwab has accepted a new job.
He will become outreach coordinator for organ procurement at University Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
The 40-year-old Schwab had a double-lung transplant there in February of 2004 after battling an incurable lung disease.
Schwab was hired by coach Tom Crean in spring 2001 and handled travel, on-campus recruiting and the video department.
He said it was a hard decision to leave basketball -- the only job he's held -- but it's an opportunity to do a lot of good.
His duties at Marquette will be split between three people.
