So i was checking out the DET board and i found this at their site. I am not sure how accurate it is, but i have no reason to believe that DET fans made this up. However, i can not confirm weather or not the HL made this a rule. and now to the rule.
Just an FYI.....At the recent Horizon League Spring Meetings a policy was adopted which designates where in the arena the band and cheerleaders are to be located for all future men's and women's HL basketball games. This policy will mean that our Pep Band will now be relocated to the west side of the north end zone bleachers.
News on the Det board seems to be pretty angry about the situation. I guess for us Panthers it will business as usual. Even though i was wondering if Jeter was going to change it in the fallowing season due to his previous school @ WI. Where its basically ok for the crowd to spit on the other team. (hyperbole) but for anyone who has been to a WI game will know the crowd is the 6th man .
So far the Loyola, butler, cleave, wright, and maybe UIC have not produced any comments on this situation so i figured i would just put it out there. and maybe we can get to the bottom of this.

Dunzz, any update on this possible new rule? Last season our band was set up on the southwest corner of the court, so if the league rule calls for all bands being located in the northwest corner, they'll have to move to the opposite end of the court from where they sat last year.

I believe, based on the league moving us during the womens tournament last year, that the bands location will be based on the position of the visiting teams bench. We were told during the womens tournament that we were too close to the visiting teams bench and therefore moved to the opposite side so we were closer to our own bench. I don't think this will be an issue at the cell, in fact I think moving us to the other side would defeat the purpose of this rule.
