Talk must come up soon about moving to a different league. If we want to keep our coaches that become successful we have to get into a bigger league that can generate more money. I know football helps alot, and the academic reputation could also hold us back, but there needs to be talk about getting out of the horizon. WHat about the MVC. S. Illinois, creighton, ect. that would be a great fit for Milwaukee.

I think that might be jumping the gun just a bit. We went to the Sweet 16, but so did Butler just a few years back and they have stayed put. I would just think we would have to prove ourselves more consistant for a longer period of time. i.e. More NCAA Tourney wins.

I agree, not to mention the fact that jumping leagues isn't an "easy" thing to do. Is the potential league expanding? Do they even want to consider UWM? Additionally, there are some SERIOUS financial ramifications associated with changing leagues. Finally, while we are all concerned with basketball, the administration is running an athletic department, not a men's basketball department..........does a league change make sense for everyone?

While I love the idea of being in a better league at face, it isn't all that simple. I think we'll be better off sticking it out in the Horizon for several more years, and seeing if the level of competition can increase. The MVC is a good conference, but the reason why is that they have slowly but surely built quailty programs. I think that we have the chance to do that in the HL. However, there is little that can be done about YSU.

The MVC would be the only conference we could realistically jump to in the next decade or so, and that doesn't really make that much sense. We might as well stay in the HOR until we get a real football program.
