The Loyola Board has been discussing another possible addition to the Horizon League. Definitely a powerhouse...IPFW! (heavy sarcasm). That would remove two non-conference games for basketball, replacing them with possibily a team worse than YSU! Their soccer programs do not seem too bad, but I dont think the UWM men or women could afford to play another low-major soccer team. Overall, it looks like we would be adding a University that provides less to the conference than YSU. It just not seem like a good fit for the Horizon League. p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm1.showMessage?topicID=4591.topicLater, UWMfreak

Why doesn't the Horizon League just add Savannah St. and Texas St.-San Marcos and cement its apparently desired rank as a low major?

I wouldn't get to bent out of shape about it........there have been rumblings about adding another school for the past 4 years or so. In fact, there was rumored to be an announcement from the league offices last summer naming the new school.........I haven't heard any "new" school yet, so until there is something a bit more solid than people on message boards talking about it, I wouldn't hold my breath. IPFW is one of the MANY schools brought up in this conversation, but I would like to think the HL would have a bit better foresight than to add a school like IPFW. Growing for the sake of growing is not a good idea.......planned growth is.

A quick google search brought to this column by Dicky V with a possible IPFW addition to the Horizon. espn.go.com/dickvitale/vcolumn031125-IPFW.html"and either league would be fortunate to add a program like this one. " What...Dicky V? Support your old conference! HL or the Mid-Con...hopefully its the Mid-Con. Later, UWMfreak

"The Mastadons play at Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, a beautiful facility. It isn't Cameron Indoor Stadium, but the fans there still have a passion and a love for their team."
Wow, even in a column about IUPUFW he still manages to get a Dook reference in there.
Dookie V lives on.

The 30 or so of us who supported the 1994-95 and 1997-98 Panthers also had an unyielding passion for our team. Did that make us worthy of admission to the ACC?

Hack, my count included the support staff, everyone who craned their necks around the corner to see what was going on in the gym, all the cheerleaders and the two-piece rock bank behind the basket.
