That's been the million dollar question on our board today. Actually, I'm getting from 2 directions, because of being a WSU grad (and season ticket holder) and working for Ohio State. I know everyone in Columbus (and Dayton) is shocked at what happened, and how quickly it happened. It was completely out of the blue.
It's too early to really know any of the details of what happened, but people on WSU's board are pretty concerned. It would be a huge let-down for us if PB ends up being let go. Things looked like they were really turning around for us, and this could be a big blow. Sometimes bad things happen to good schools.

I hope for your guys sake (WSU) that PB will be able to somehow justify/rectify what happened and make amends for it without to much of a hassle.
Any names being thrown around the Columbus area for a replacement for O'brien? Just curious....

I am with Pnthr30, I like what PB is doing with the team and am not going to pass judgement until all the facts are laid out on the table before me. On the other hand, lets say this happened to Marquette and not Ohio State. Lets just say Crean was fired and it came out that Kowalczyk "handled the money", man I would most biased person in Milwaukee.

As more info comes out, there are more and more questions being raised about the validity of the whole story. I think, when this is all over, we will find that a lot of what has been said just isn't true. Do I think that PB is completely clean? I can't really say one way or the other, but I don't think he was involved in things to the extent this woman is claiming. One particular snippet from the ESPN article sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1818902is interesting. As for O'brien, I think he was pretty stupid for thinking it would be okay to help this kid out with money. He should have known better. There are a lot of names swirling around the news here, although one name just got eliminated. Bobby Knight just signed a 3 year extension at Texas Tech. He played at OSU, and a lot of people thought he might be interested in coming back. Other names I have heard include Thad Motta from Xavier (formerly at Butler) and Bob Huggins at UC. Frankly, I can't imagine OSU wanting to get a coach like Huggins. OSU doesn't need another coach who can't keep players out of jail.

I agree........that doesn't bode well. However, it will be interesting to see how everything shakes out in the end. There seem to be a lot of inconsistencies to her story, and a lot of "missing" pieces. But then again, that may just be the twist that the media is putting on it. Time will tell, but if I was a WSU fan, I would be sweating!

The latest in the soap opera from Ohio State/Wright State. Here is the official statement released by Boban Savovic: raiderroundball.com/0705/savovic.pdfAt this point, I think most WSU fans are more concerned about which regional we will be sent to in March!

I never want to hear the word "allegedly" and my name in the same sentence... In December, the school imposed a one-year postseason tournament ban on its men's basketball team after O'Brien acknowledged he gave about $6,000 to recruit Alex Radojevic in 1999. O'Brien, fired on June 8, is seeking up to $6 million in a breach-of-contract suit against Ohio State. The NCAA report says O'Brien allegedly gave Radojevic the money through then-assistant coach Paul Biancardi. O'Brien and Biancardi are accused of acting "contrary to principles of ethical conduct" by failing to report their involvement in NCAA rules violations, the report said. sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2061565
