Some pretty funny comments comparing them to characters in the HBO show "Entourage".... Re: UWM freshmen officially gone -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope they have fun as members of Derrick Rose's entourage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I’m not sure either one is up to being Eric. That leaves us with Drama and Turtle. This certainly isn’t an absolute with me, but I see Flowers being Drama and Johnson being Turtle. I can picture a typical conversation.....Hello ladies, I'm T.F., a friend of Derrick's. My you three are sexy looking. You know I was on the All-State team with Derrick. The school I went to was all messed up, didn't utilize my skills, so I quit. I'm going to try out for the NBA soon. Say, you want to go back with us to Derrick's crib and hang for awhile? What's that? Yeah, uh sure, Derrick might be there. Hey K.J., go get the Hummer. These ladies are coming back with us to party! p214.ezboard.com/fbuhoopsfrm1.showMessage?topicID=12967.topic

That's funny and sad at the same time. It's too bad those two didn't realize how badly they've messed up. With the way the team is playing better without them, it's clear they overestimated their talent and value. It's equally clear they'll have a very hard time getting picked up by another D 1 school after their stints in a community college.

Milwsport you actually think that no team will take a chance with these guys after a year in a community college? You are nuts, especially with Flowers. All he has to go is go to Community College, be a model student athlete for a year and someone will pick him up. People always get a second chance.

I don't think so. Any coach is going to look at how much better the team played after they left, the fact that they stopped going practice so early in the season etc and see them as problem players he's better off without.
Might there be a coach who will take that kind of chance? Maybe if he's desperate enough, but even then it's more likely to be a walk on offer and almost certainly going to be a low mid-major.

Sport as much as I like you, I have to disagree with ya. This happens all too often. There are "problematic players" all around the NCAA. They hop from one school to another. Look at the guy at Loyola-Cerasoli(sp)? He's been to 3 or 4 schools??? Lost count.
Coaches want to win, and many feel, while maybe not vocalizing it, that Coach A did it wrong, but I can fix it.
Kevin Johnson may be screwed, but I don't see that for Tim. The only way another school dosen't pick that kid up is if he messes it up himself.

You may be right. I just think that in this case the mess up was so bad and the results after their departure were so drastically different that it's hard to blame the coach. I do agree with you that Tim has a better chance at getting another shot than KJ does.

Have we forgotten about Torre already. He was kicked off the team at Oklahoma State, he ended up somewhere else... here.

They will, without question, end up in another D1 program at some point. To think otherwise, you're being naive. There's 300+ D1 teams, and 30+ coaching changes every year. Hundreds of players transfer from other schools and go to/come from junior colleges each year. Community college isn't always a bad thing, it's a place for young kids to find themselves, and make changes.

I believe Tim should be able to find another D1 spot. I think Kevin will have to prove his skills at JC first. Big athletic kid but he showed almost no basketball skill at all while he was here.

Yeah, Flowers will definitely end up in D 1 maybe like the summit league or another low D 1 conference. KJ I don't think will ever come back to Division 1, he isn't good enough. The few times he got in he didn't really produce, I can see him going high to mid D2.

Flowers could probably end up at a D1 school again.
KJ, unless he works really hard, especially on defense, won't.
The question is, do either of them want to put in the work, both on the court and in the classroom, to be a D1 Student Athlete.

KJ has a long, loooong ways to go before being good enough to play for any mid-Major. I'm not sure he'd even play much at Parkside or Whitewater now. Lavontay Fenderson would run circles around him.
