Twas the night before Christmas and throughout Panther Land, not a creature was stirring, no crowds and no band.
The balls packed away, neatly in stands, the athletes were sleeping, and so were the fans.
When from the Pavilion there was such a clatter. That everyone looked to see what’s the matter.
Up on the roof stood a man clad in red. He turned to his reindeer and loudly he said, “They’ve all been so good, for the Black and the Gold. So we're stopping here despite the cold.
For Bud’s there’s a trophy. Mc Cafferty it’s name. It proves once again he’s on top of his game.
With his recruits, there’s not much RJ will need. He gets an 08 bid with a really high seed.
There is a nice bid for Ms. Botham too, along with a guard who shoots 3’s just like Boo.
For both soccer teams I bring a new ball. Whenever they kick it the goalie will fall. If the other side tries it, they surely will miss. It’s guaranteed to bring sweet Panther bliss.
For the baseball team here’s something quite fun. A very fine pitcher who can hit the home run.
For all of the others, there’s some special sweets. They’ll help them do great in all of their meets.
For the ticket office here's something they like too. A magic list to help sales go up times 2.
He told the reindeer he had met his goal. "Now it’s time to go west and leave some black coal."
As the sleigh lifted off, he stood in the seat and yelled to the crowd down in the street. “Yo Panther fans, yes Panther fans, don’t give up the fight. Keep cheering, stay loyal, it will turn out alright.”
As his sleigh picked up speed, to fly into the night, we all were straining for one last sight. He turned and looked down at the crowd below, he did a u turn and more kindness did show.
He flew over the campus spreading hundreds of gifts. For everyone’s spirits he gave a nice lift.
And I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight.
“Go Black, Go Gold, Merry Christmas good night!”
