Today's Full Court luncheon was fun to be at. If you missed it, try to make the next one in January.
You don't have to a member of the Full Court Club to come.
Among the highlights
Bud Heidet telling the guy from that other Milwaukee School not to tell Bill Cords about Kathy Litzau (who gave a nice talk earlier) because we already lost one coach this week. The MU guy was at my table and looked less than amused
RJ mentioning Tucker's 3 pointers as "that shot that he seems like to take so much."
RJ talking about playing for Bo Ryan, "he pulled me from one game for not running the offense like he liked. Bo told as assistant 'tell this one how to run our offense.'" I responded that I'd been running it for four years and I know how. I didn't get back in the game after that."
RJ talking about recruits on Swaggert: He plays for the number 1 ranked High School in the country. His team mates are going to East Carolina, Marquette, Louisville and Syracuse."
He also said that every year Bo sent him to Chester PA to look around because Bo is from that area, "And every year I'd come back and say 'Nope, nothing yet.'
That's what I told him last year and then I come back here and land Swaggert."
On Harris, "He's a good kid from the state's number 1 team." He said Harris is like he is. He didn't ask who else is coming, how many minutes he would get or anything like that. "He said 'I just want a chance to prove myself.'" He said he was the same way when he went to Platteville.
He also said the guys are getting the offense but it takes time. Pointing out that Davis is 23, he said that they have minds of their own but unlike Bo, when he pulls them for making a mistake he tells them what they did wrong himself.
All in all it was a nice time and they had great prizes too including sitting on the bench during a game "So you can hear what I tell them up close."
